Boarding & Agistment

Full boarding (agistment) offered whether purchased from us or from another alpaca farm. We board both males and females with separate pastures and barns.

We have easy access from I-80, only minutes from exit #168, all on paved roads and only 30 minutes from Des Moines. Hotels, RV park, Restaurants, and shopping all just minutes away!

Our entire herd has tested negative for BVD, and for the safety of the herd, if you wish to agist here we will request that your animals be tested prior to coming.

We have 2 large metal barns with multiple entrances. The alpacas always have access to the barns. The female barn is lined & insulated. Our plans call for major improvements to the second barn, a cement floor, insulation, and better storage. Both barns have heat sources for any animal that may feel the need for additional warmth during the colder months. We have three large pastures and two smaller fenced in areas with plenty of portable fencing panels to meet all needs.

Pricing and Terms
$85.00 monthly includes feed and forage. Normal routine health care is included such as toenail & teeth trimming, worming, routine shots. We will even shear your animals with ours at minimal cost and will give you your own fleece back. Although we are primarily a suri farm, we do own a few huacaya and agist 7 other huacayas. Reductions for multiple animals are offered. If you own a breeding pair we will gladly breed them for you at no extra charge.

Additional Details

We feed camelid specific pellets. Feedings are done twice daily year round. All alpacas have their own buckets, and an extra one is always set out for every 10 animals so everyone can always have a dish. If you want to have or require other special needs we will be glad to work with you. Normally all our alpacas have full access to the barns. We have 3 to 4 part time high school employees to help with feeding, cleaning, and even showing the animals. Generally they are all involved with the local high school agriculture program and live on farms themselves.

We have an experienced camelid vet who does ultrasounds on site. His clinic has several other qualified vets, so there is always a vet available for emergencies.

We took the "Neonatal Clinic" at the AOBA National Conference & Show in 2004.

We have a great relationship with our professional shearer who travels a large section of the central United States and he has stopped by to do special requests when needed.
