Boarding and Agistment
Daily board includes tested hay/pasture, alpaca supplement/feed, fiber nutrients, minerals, clean water daily, toenail trimming, and a pair of "2-legged" eyes 24/7 to make sure everyone is doing well. Daily board also includes the normal day-to-day care of cria (taking daily to weekly weights of newborns, extra nutrition for dam, vitamins for winter cria). A nominal fee is charged for other services, such as shearing, medications, fecal analysis, dewormers and vaccines, and other veterinary fees specific to the individual animals. Here at Double 8 Alpaca Ranch, we are commited to the individual needs of each alpaca.
All animals will require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection prior to agistment at the Double 8 Alpaca Ranch, in addition to a fecal analysis, copy of BVDV-(PCR/SN Neg. results), and current rabies and tetanus vaccinations. The Double 8 Alpaca Ranch uses a quarantine process for new boarders.

Breeding discount for agisted animals available.
Birthing fee for normal delivery of agisted dams is $350 for April - November births, and $450 for Winter births (December - March) and/or any veterninary fees associated.

The Double 8 Alpaca Ranch uses a stress-free handling approach derived from Marty McGee's Camelidynamics. Every alpaca/animal on the Double 8 Alpaca Ranch is handled in a respectful manner, which results in a trusting relationship between camelid/animal and human.
The Double 8 Alpaca Ranch uses the services of highly qualified camelid veterinarians, including well-respected veterinarian, Dr.Nancy Lee and Dr. Shari Silverman. Double 8 Alpaca Ranch's veterinarians are dedicated to the NJ camelid community by keeping current on the latest camelid topics, and attending national and local camelid veterinarian meetings, clinics and seminars. | | |
