Alpaca Educational Seminar and Fiber Worshop
This 2 day event begins with Saturday's educational seminar at Prairie Creek Alpacas in Bull Valley, IL. This comprehensive seminar is designed to help you realize your dreams of owning and raising alpacas! Topics include: how to begin, choosing the right animals, all about fiber, daily care, herd management, breeding & birthing, tax benefits, barn and pasture set up and marketing of your animals. See how rewarding this lifestyle can be. This seminar will give you valuable information, allow you hands on learning & answer your questions on raising alpacas.
Sunday's session will be held at Waldron Grove Alpaca Farm in Elgin IL. The day will begin with a farm tour followed with more hands on fleece training. We will be covering the details of shearing, skirting, processing, roving, spinning, yarn, wet and dry felt. You will understand first hand why Suri Alpaca is referred to as "the rarest of breeds, the ultimate natural fiber".
