| | | Pandora is our last Passport offspring as we had to put him down in the fall of 2007. (Peruvian Passport was 12 years old and because of an irreparable broken leg suffered as a cria, he was becoming painfully arthritic.) In addition to having a gorgeous fleece with a very uniform crimp and super density, Pandora is a sweetheart. Her ancestors are in the pedigrees of several of our foundation herd; hence we feel can let her go to another farm, albeit reluctantly.
Pandora produced a beautiful fawn female cria (see photo of the gorgeous Miss Emma) out of Accoyo America Diomedes at the last of September 2009. She has been rebred t

Diomedes has that perfect combination of fineness and density with an indescribable brightness, and he is passing it on...in color! Several of his cria came in fawn last year, and this year we have one brown boy that takes your breath away -- everyone who walks in the barn notices him right away. Diomedes' male offspring seem to come out ready to breed...very self-possessed, and we found one breeding (no really!) at 10 months. The fleece judge for 2008 Alpacapalooza, Cheryl Gehly, agreed with us about Diomedes' 2007 blanket. She wrote "Wow! S | |

Eddie's youngest granddaughter, Emma, fell in love with this little female right off the bat. We weren't sure if it was the personality or her looks, but we agreed, she was something special...hence the name!
Emma, the alpaca, was entertaining right away...the photo of her snoozing in the sun is on our AN farm page. She has become the matriarch of her little group of late weanlings and all must be together for her to relax. What a character!
Because she was born so late in the fall, we did not cria shear Emma, and her fine fleece gathered lots of debris over the winter. We just sheared last week, and oh, my, what a treat it was to get down to the skin and see what she was producing! This was the closest line breed we have ever done, and we can see why people get tempted to go closer and closer. So beautiful!
