Athena is a beautiful animal. Her conformation is correct and the fiber is fantastic. She has beautiful lustrous locks with soft dense fleece and abundant coverage. Her fawn color is very unique and has a grey shade to it. Her face is a lovely shade of grey. Athena is a calm and friendly animal. She has the classic Suri look. At seven years old, she's still growing soft & lustrous locks each year after shearing.
Her crias are extraordinary. She has produced blue ribbon winners and champs. Her lustrous daughter Katrina won many blues and a fleece color championship. Her silky soft golden son Apollo won 1st in a class of 8 at the 2007 AOBA Nationals Fleece show, placing above 3 full Accoyos, with his curly adult fleece regrowth! Graceful Artemis, Athena's '06 cria by Ulysses, is a gorgeous girl with fantastic fleece and stunning colors of brown and smokey grey. She's also winning blues in the shows, including Nationals!
Stay tuned for Athena's future cria updates.
Awards Received Show quality.
1st place - Produce of Dam - thanks to her fawn offspring Apollo and Katrina at 2006 LA Deep South Alpaca Show. Her offspring are blue ribbon winners in halter and fleece, and Katrina is a champion and judges choice in fleece.
UPDATE: In her first ever fleece show, Athena was the oldest entry and still won BLUE with her 6 year old fleece!!!
1st & BEST LOCK award!!! - Wild&Wooly fleece '07. Although there were enough suri fleeces for an AOBA championship, none was offered. If it had been, Athena would have been Reserve Champion, with 2nd highest scoring fleece in show. Wow!!!
2nd - LA Deep South Alpaca Show 2007 - Fleece, fawn - Second only to her son, Apollo! She was the oldest in the class and placed above younger adult fawns.
