Snowmass Chiarella

Medium Fawn, 812527, Full Peruvian

Daughter of the legendary Hemingway, Chiarella (say CHEE-uh-RAY-uh) is a sweet and gentle female who passes on her desirable temperament to her offspring. Chia's darling face is enhanced by a white blaze on the front of her dense topknot, and she has dense coverage of finely crimped, lustrous golden fleece down to her toes. She exhibits a compact body style, good bite and heavy bone.

A notable trait of Chia and her daughters is that they are bold at the dinner table! They have no trouble holding their weight while lactating heavily, and we don't worry about coddling them when they are visiting at a breeding farm.

Chia delivers her 15-21 lb. crias unassisted, provided ample milk and is a calm and patient mother. She has provided us with 3 fawn daughters and 2 red-brown sons. We like her 2006 son so well, we rebred Chia and two of her daughters to the same male- see below.

Aaaand... she's done it again! Another girl (4th out of 6 crias) and she is the best yet! N

  Premier's Maximillian
    Medium Brown, 823126, 1/2 Peruvian

Max carries his medium bone on a flawless, elegant frame. He is very regal and holds himself proudly in the pasture. We all know it is easy to improve fleece with a good breeding, but Max has been able to improve the structure of the dams he has bred, a strong argument for considering him.

Max's Legacy genetics are evident in the silken feel of his fiber, which he has consistently passed on to his offspring. Even though he has medium amplitude crimp himself, Max's crias have been born with corkscrews. One discriminating breeder put two of their girls with Max in 2005, and based on the qualities of the crias, sent three girls back to be bred to him in 2006! What a tribute to Max. All five of those crias are now on the ground, and the breeder has exclaimed that she has NEVER seen such brightness and character!

We paired Max with Premier's Jolie, a blue ribbon female, and got a fabulous male that we named Premier's Icon because he embodies everything we are breedin

Elite fiber: super-fine, super-dense, long-staple sharply crimped & bright. Halleluia!

Halleluia comes from strongly-producing line of alpacas with very dense, bright fleece and heavy bone. This line is early maturing: females conceive and birth easily, milk heavily while easily maintaining a substantial body condition. Great nurturing moms.

Her breeding to Fernando produced a 2011 cria with eye-popping fleece: solid brown with taupe throat, bright, bundling, highly crimped. Fernando should lock in correct bite, heavy bone and good spring of rib, lack of guard hair and great uniformity of micron from the blanket across the shoulder and into the neck.

Unfortunately, Halle did not produce much milk as a maiden, and consequently her cria was bottle fed. This was a total shock, considering the fact that her dam and sisters milk like cows! Although not bred at this time, Halle does come with a free breeding to any wholly-owned Genesis herdsire. We truly feel that Halle should be given a second chance to be a great milker. Halle is a terrific female in every other sense, and a great buy at this price, if you are willing to bottle feed a cria, if need be. If Halle blossoms into the stellar milker she is meant to be, you will have picked up a great bargain!

Please call or write to request fiber samples, further info and a sample contract. References from happy customers gladly given!
