Splendida still has fine, soft fiber with that sheen that makes alpaca a true luxury fiber - at 14 years old.
With correct conformation and a good bite Splendida maintained her body condition with no problem through the winter, while carrying a cria. Though she was exported from Peru to Australia and then to Canada before being imported into the US, Splendida allowed us to form a 'working relationship' with her and is attentive to her cria.
On May 27th, Splendida delivered a handsome white male cria sired by the famous Guellermo. Covered in dense curls, we hope he will grow up to be a credit to her and to his sire.
We are honored to have this gracious older girl in our herd.
