We are pleased to offer MaRS Hutton for consideration as a herdsire. Hutton has wonderful, strong presence, great conformation and superior fleece. This young, now proven male, comes from loads of color, along with supporting a fine, dense fleece. Hutton's fiber is buttery soft, with matchstick bundles of a fine and rich color. (His 2005 micron was 17.0/3.5/20.6/0.5over30.) Hutton has 5 cria on the way in 2007.
Breeding to Hutton offers that possibility of rich color while not sacrificing fleece quality. His is consistently allowing deep color to come through in the females he has been bred to; his last 4 / 4 have been colored females!
A truly lovely richly colored medium brown female with a very diverse lineage. Danaid is well grown now, showing excellent overall development. She is a strong, solid well conformed finely fleeced maiden. Danaid is deeply colored with a soft handling fleece like her dam; her fleece is a deep rich brown, carrying a small and frequent crimp.
A large cria at birth, she was up and going in no time and looked like she was a month old already. When we saw this young female we thought she was exactly what the breeding between her dam and sire should have produced. We know her granddam, a lavender rose grey, has a 23 micron at 13 years of age!
Did we mention Danaid's dam delivered four female crias in a row? Impressive maternal line....wouldn't we all like to have a foundation female like that?
Danaid's first cria is on our site, Supercell. He is a gorgeous light brown with superfine fleece and a dynamite appearance. She is a fantastic dam and her cria gained over a pound a day - really a no nonsense easy going dam to have around.
