ABA Queen of Spades

True Black, 807974, Full Chilean

We purchased Queen when she was seven years old. I had been looking for a black female alpaca and a friend had shown me Queen's fleece sample. It was love at first site, as at seven years old Queen still held a fine, shiny fleece with a soft handle.

Queen is one of those dams who has very instinctive behaviour, she knows when she is ready to breed, she breeds once, she births healthy, robust, crias, she produces excellent milk and she weans her crias when she is ready! Queen is an alpaca managers dream - and has wonderful conformation and fleece too.

Queen will be living out her days here at Windrush Alpacas being kept in the luxury that a Queen expects!

  Windrush Jennifer's Zindel
    Light Fawn, 1182606, Full Peruvian

A striking herdsire, Windrush Jennifer's Zindel carries the best of traits from his sire Dom Lucilio and Grandsires PPPeruvian Royal Fawn and Peruvian Fabio. Zin's dam Enchantment's Peruvian Jennifer was the cornerstone of our breeding program and held her fleece fineness throughout her lifetime. Zin's fleece takes your breath away with its fineness, density, high frequency crimp, small bundles and a spectacular brightness. Broad chested and heavy boned Zin is an alpaca that has always wowed the judges. One judge commented that he had looked at Zin as he entered the ring and hoped that his fleece was as good as the rest of him - the judge was not disappointed. A color champion and consistent winner in the show ring this young male already has pregnancies confirmed for next spring. We can hardly wait to see what he produces. There are not many full Peruvian Dom Lucilio offspring, even fewer who are offered at this reasonable breeding fee.

***Update - Velvet is now bred to Snowmass Andean Night!***

What a deal for this girl! Velvet is an outstanding female bred to an outstanding male. We can barely wait to see the cria Velvet and Snowmass Andean Night produce.

Feel Velvet’s fleece and you will understand why we called her Velvet Princess. Velvet has the most unique velvety handle. That handle indicates to us that she has great consistency throughout her medium fawn fleece, which has uniform crimp through her blanket and into her upper legs and neck. Her fleece also has a beautiful brightness to it that her sire Windrush Jennifer’s Zindel, our Color Champion Herdsire puts on his offspring.

Velvet was Zindel’s first offspring and we were suitably impressed, so much so that we repeated the breeding.

Velvet is out of our black dam Queen of Spades and we hope that bred to the right male she will produce black or dark cria. Queen has always produced robust, strong cria and Queen’s previous daughter TeQueely is now doing the same. We are certain Velvet will also follow in the family tradition of producing healthy, robust cria.

You really need to feel Velvet’s fleece to get an idea of her unique handle. Call us today for a fleece sample and start planning to add this outstanding girl to your herd.
