An excellent producing female from Canadian bloodlines, Leksi is a low maintenance girl who fits easily within the herd. Her sire is the true black herdsire, Cava Guivir Zorro from the Ruth Elvestad farm. To date Leksi has been bred three times to light fawn and had produced white through medium fawn. Currently bred to our award winning Legacy son, Crescent Moon's Titanium, we are eagerly awaiting this autumn birth. We expect the cria to have the Titanium 'stamp' and look just the same as our spring cria with awesome fiber. Leksi has correct conformation and an upright stance. She is an easy breeder and has birthed without assistance. She is a very protective mother with ample milk.

Iona is our first cria from Leksi, a proven medium fawn female. Iona was up and on the move fairly quickly, even considering the heat around here at the end of August 2007. We were pleased to see her uniformly fawn fiber as she dried off. She is colored very closely to that of her dam, and a bit darker than her sire, Snowmass Nova's Inca.
Iona was shorn in May this year and she sheared 4.25lbs of quality, usable fiber at only 8 months old. WOW - did we mention she had a 5" staple length? Nice fiber on this little lady. The character of her fiber is carried from base to tip and is medium amplitude with a high frequency.
Iona's sire, Nova's Inca, is continuing the Nova-Casanova-Bueno line made legendary by both Nova(2005), and Casanova(2004), being named Futurity Herdsire of the Year, by placing some solid and uniformly fleeced offspring on the ground. Iona is no disappointment in those and many other aspects. As she has grown she has developed into a very well conformed maiden with a deep chest and good presence. She has a sweet, lovely expression about her face.
We are excited about the different possibilities she presents in future breeding considerations. If she is purchased before she is bred, we will include her first breeding, to one of our solely owned herdsires. What a selection we have to choose from! But, in our minds we would either go to our Titanium, a Legacy son, or Radica, our true black from greys. Iona has some black in her lineage which makes her a fawn with lots of options for breeding possibilities.
