Brittany is a stunning lady with a proud demeanor. She loves to strike a commanding "look at me!" pose in the field. She has a heathery silver gray and white tuxedo fleece that is our top seller among our hand spinners. Spin-Off judges always give top marks for the brightness of her fleece and for the fineness and handle of her fleece which they say is a pleasure to spin. Perfect bite and conformation combine to make her a great foundation lady. Brittany comes from a solid line of true black and gray has continued to reproduce only gray crias although bred to four different males of differing color backgrounds so her gray color is dominant. Her first cria was Eduardo, a gorgeous medium rose gray boy out of our Accoyo herdsire, Calypsa. She has had three additional male crias, Sir Fabian, a medium rose gray boy, a stunning dark silver gray male, BSF Gilbert, out of our true black herdsire, Jericho, and a medium silver gray cria, Lord Irving, out of Classic Black Night.
We have been so pleased with the addition of Night to our herdsire row. He is true black with an all silver gray, full Peruvian lineage with Peruvian Dom Timbo as his grandsire and Peruvian Silvio as his sire. His dam, Ariosa is a color champion and blue ribbon winner at Nationals. He is a small compact male with an attractive head, very square conformation, and good bone. He has a perfect bite and his legs are well-set and straight. His fiber coverage is excellent and his fiber is exceptionally fine and dense with a very consistent, medium freqency crimp.
Night now has 9 crias on the ground and just as we thought, he is a powerhouse of gray genetics: 5 are gray and 4 are black; 7 out of the 9 are female! All are stunning. We think he makes the perfect choice for gray, black, and maroon females if you are trying to create silver gray or rose gray crias.
Our first Classic Black Night male cria and he's exactly what we were hoping for, a great gray male with herd sire potential. He has already won many ribbons in halter and fleece. He is a classic tuxedo silver gray and white, a bit darker than his dam, Brittany, and with the exceptional fineness and density of his sire. Night's strong gray genetics from Dom Timbo and Silvio have come through again! Irving arrived at noon on Labor Day, four days early, but raring to go. Weighing in at 19.4 lbs. and on his feet in minutes, he wasted no time in upstaging all the other juveniles in the pasture with his stunning presence. He is already covered from head to toe with thick, soft fleece that, unlike most cria fleeces, has structure. UPDATE: This boy is really fine with a micron of just 19.3. Great for any male alpaca, but SUPER for a gray! He is now fully mature and ready to take his place on our herd sire row.
