Vintage Vicuna is as closely marked to a vicuna as we have seen on any of the suri imports. She had an extremely low micron count of 18 when she was imported in 1996. Her 2004 daughter is Vicuna's Ventania, a dark rose grey who was the 2005 Res. Champion Grey Female at AAA Futurity and MAPACA. Vicuna's Ventania was the high selling alpaca in The Private Collection, selling for $84,000.Vintage Vicuna is a wonderful mother and one of our top dams. Her 2005 cria, GLR Black Eyed Pea, another stunning grey female sired by Silver Marquis is owned by Brenda and K.C. Mosier at Desert Moon Alpacas.

Silver Marquis is our full Peruvian, second generation grey herdsire (co-owned with Wilkins Livestock LLC).Sire of mulitple blue ribbon winners, we are quite proud of what Silver Marquis has produced for us since 2004. Great Lakes Ranch's Platinum Marquis was 2004 MAPACA Champion Grey Male, 2004 AOBA Reserve Champion Grey Male, and 2004 AAA Futurity Resertve Champion Grey Male. GLR Oriana was shown twice and awarded 1st place yearling dark brown juvenile female at 2004 AOBA & 2004 MAPACA. GLR Bela, in her only show, was blue ribbon winner in medium brown at 2004 AOBA.In 2005 his son GLR Marakesh was second at the AAA Futurity, Color Champion at Mapaca and Reserve Color Champion at AOBA. Black Eyed Pea was named by our son when he was 10 years old. She is a super dark silver grey, with incredible density, luster and commanding presence. Her half sister, GLR Ventania, sold at the 2005 Private Collection Sale for a record $84,000. Her mother, when imported in 1996, had a micron count of only 18.Her sire is Silver Marquis, sire of our 3rd generation Champion Platinum Marquis. She had a gorgeous Synergy daughter in 2009 and a black Shavano son in 2011. Pea's 2012 cria is a gorgeous black Rastamon daughter, GLR Paola who will be in the show ring this spring. Pea is bred back to GLR Rastamon and expecting a cria in September 2013.
