Dark Rose Grey, 826673, 1/4 Peruvian, 3/4 Other/Unknown
UPDATE: On August 8th, Minuet gave birth to her 4th female cria in a row---she's 4 for 4!!!! This sweet little girl, Minuet's Maegan d'Avalon is growing like a weed having doubled her birth weight (from 16.8# to 35# in a month!) Maegan is a solid very dark brown and well conformed with great presence!
Minuet attracts attention with her striking color and upright stature. She is a fancy, with bay black as her primary color. Rose grey, silver grey and medium fawn spots are scattered through her blanket. Good conformation and bone complete the picture.
Minuet has proven to be a wonderful mother, birthing easily and producing ample milk for her crias. She should make a good, problem free starter alpaca.
Her first cria, Miss Nadia d'Avalon, is a feminine, bay black little lady with bright, crimpy fiber (SOLD). On October 12, 2005, Minuet gave birth to a vigorous WHITE female cria, Miss Lyric d'Avalon. Lyric has grown to be a nice female with big bone a
True black from two true black parents, Jag carries color genetics deep with black and grey. In addition to the rich black color, his fiber has wonderful hand and architecture...a fabulous combination!
We purchased Jag to be the perfect complement to daughters coming from our three champion colored herdsires, Snowmass King Crimson, Lace's Peruvian Black Lance, and Avalon's Peruvian Granger. We've already seen the outstanding daughters coming from Crimson and Lance, so we knew we had to find a male worthy of them. We believe Jag is the answer.
Unfortunately, Jag was not shown as a juvenile. Tucked away in a back pasture of a large farm, Jag went unnoticed. Well, that has changed! Since we purchased Jag, we have been eager to get him into the showring. He "came home" in early March 2007 and, as a yearling, had his first experience with a halter and lead. Only days later he was in his first show. Jag gai
Meagan is a pretty young female with soft bay black fiber. She is conformationally correct, with straight legs and nice balance. Her fiber coverage is good, with good character. She has produced very good staple length. If you are looking for a nice dark female, this may be the one.
Maegan's dam, Minuet, is an easy breeder, easy keeper, and an outstanding mother that always bonds well with her crias and provides them with ample milk. We believe that this will also hold true for Maegan.
We have Maegan very reasonably priced. Don't let this one get away. As with all of our maidens, she sells with her FIRST breeding to the AFA herdsire of Buyer's choice. Alhough she has been eager to breed, we have held her open due to the slow economy. If she is not purchased first, we plan to breed her Spring 2012 to our newest fawn herdsire, Avalon's Peruvian Triumph.
EVERY FEMALE purchased from Avalon Farm is eligible for reduced price breedings to any solely owned AFA herdsire FOR HER BREEDING LIFE, regardless of owner.
