Snowmass Moonflower
White, 843329, Peruvian
Snowmass Moonflower brings exceptional genetics with her and it is apparent in her offspring, who placed first at the 2006 NW Fiber Odyssey and first at 2007 Alpaca Showcase. She is a Chaccu daughter, who currently resides at Crescent Moon and is an extremely dense alpaca. Moonflower's dam is Pichucha, who was originally imported from Peru by Snowmass Alpacas. Moonflower has very fine fleece, superb density, and beautiful crimp throughout. She is a superb mother and produces huge amounts of milk for her crias.
Snowmass Casanova's Condor
Light Fawn, 830210, Full Peruvian
Snowmass Casanova's Condor is the perfect combination of alpaca with beautifully soft fiber, uniform crimp, density throughout and the sweetest personality you could imagine.
Condor's dam, 5Peruvian Condori, was originally imported by Snowmass Alpacas and she is true black. On his sires side he boasts the exceptional bloodlines of the famous Snowmass Peruvian Casanova. He was the high seller at the 2002 Celebrity Futurity Auction where he sold for an amazing $147,000! He had a micron count of 18.3 at 3.5 years of age and his recent histogram is still under 25 microns at over 9 years of age! Condor carries on those traits in a beautiful fawn grey color. Condor has exceptional uniformity of his crimp and still retains fineness at the age of 5 with an AFD of 22.
Condor sired four crias in 2006 and all were females! His progeny came in first place in the 2006 NW Fiber Odyssey, first in the 2007 NW Alpaca Showcase (halter) and 2nd place in the 2008 NW Showcase. Condor has
We bought this girl (she is "Amy" to us) for several reasons, not the least of which was the gorgeous sample of fleece we got from her previous owners; it displayed a lovely crimp, fine handle and unbelievable staple length. She is registered as a light fawn, but the bulk of her blanket fleece is really a light rose grey.
And beyond looking at the fiber, her pedigree was certainly nothing to sneeze at with the Chaccu grandsire and Bueno great grandsire. We had none of the Chaccu line on our farm and loved Amy's density. At the time we acquired her, she was bred to Onyx' Grey Navigator; take a look at the copy-cat daughter she produced from that breeding...simply beautiful! Amy took to mothering like a duck to water...she births easily, (which is amazing since she produces very large crias for her size,) has a great milk supply and wonderful protective instincts.
We have two other daughters from Amy and Diomedes, both with stellar fleeces, so we are ready to let her go produce for another farm. In 2011 Amy gave us a male cria from a black sire (we knew he carried the white spot gene, but thought it worth the risk) with very unusual coloring...visitors love him! He is a rich dark brown color with gorgeous conformation, beautiful head, and two white front legs!! The front legs have little brown spots at the knees with brown anklets. It took us forever to come up with a suitable name for him, and we finally landed on Symmetry Defined...both legs are exactly the same!
We would offer to breed Amy for you, but she really needs a dark service sire from a dark pedigree, and we don't have one to fit the bill.
