OK, we were not planning to buy anything at the Snowmass Auction....really. But we could not resist this girl. She has produced Futurity Blue ribbon winners and champions...all in True Black. She passes on fineness, brightness, low scale, and silky highly crimped locklets to all of her cria. This type of fleece is so essential to black fiber.
She herself has a beautiful staple length and is absolutely drop dead gorgeous! Her genetics are outstanding...going back to the one and only Peruvian Accoyo Pluro. Pluro has produced outstanding crias in a range of colors. His bloodline is rare because he is no longer in the US.
We bred her to our premier guy Snowmass Royal Flush and got a beautiful solid True Black female! This time we are breeding her to...our Get of Sire champion Snowmass Nova's Gold which should produce a cria similar to her her 1st place Futurity daughter and Blue ribbon winning son, Snowmass Nova's Pluro (see him in our herdsire and sale listings).
2x 1st Place GET OF SIRE with his first few crias against some awesome competition (including Accoyo Express)! Daughter wins Black Res Champ; son wins Black Res Champ! What can he do for your dams? He is showing that he can vastly improve the fleece on your girls, adding fine fleeced density...dense dense dense, allowing color to pass through AND stamping them with his uniformity, typy head, muzzle, coverage, and flawless solid conformation. His black gene is strong, but his white crias from white dams are taking ribbons too. His crias have all been very hardy and thriving well at birth.
Nova's Gold is Snowmass Nova's fine, dense, full fleeced son out of a Sollacata Peruvian dam. He's a multi-Champion, elite fleeced, strong boned, well balanced, flawlessly conformed male. His maternal Granddam was Snowmass Alpaca's absolute top Black female Peruvian Silent Night, with rare Sollocata bloodlines. Silent Night has had 2 Silver Champion females and 1 Black Champion Male.
If its true that the dam and the sire both contribute equally to their offspring, then this boy has a huge genetic advantage. From the moment he hit the ground, we knew that he was absolutely going to be something special.
He holds the powerful, multi Get of Sire, genetics of our herdsire Snowmass Nova's Gold. With that, he gets Nova, Casanova, Bueno, Drambuie, and 6Peruian Silent Night.
Add to that his award winning dam, who is a daughter of the great grey Ring Ridge Smokey and Granddaughter of Accoyo Pluro.
Everything lined up properly with this boy and he has density, coverage, supreme shine, expressive and consistent crimp, great bone, and more.
His fleece is very organized with a higher amplitude crimp style and wonderful bundling.
I hope you will watch him grow with us. Our plan is that we will sell him, so that he may carry his genetics to another great breeding program. But if we were to keep him, he could be the future replacement of Nova's Gold and that is saying A LOT. We do want to retain 4 breedings if sold.
Awards Received 1st Place large combined True & Bay Black Halter class 2009 LA Deep South, highly considered for Champ, but it went to the older boys.

He also helped his sire win 4th out of 13 Get of sire entries at Mid-America! (right behind Posiedon and Barnabus)
