True Black, 807974, Full Chilean

*** UPDATE - Our dear Queen has been confirmed pregnant to our outstanding Altiplano Gold Son "Travesura's Altiplano Treasure. We can hardly wait to see what that pairing produces. Queen is due in Spring 2009. ***

We purchased Queen when she was seven years old. I had been looking for a black female alpaca and a friend had shown me Queen's fleece sample. It was love at first site, as at seven years old Queen still held a fine, shiny fleece with a soft handle.

Queen is one of those dams who has very instinctive behaviour, she knows when she is ready to breed, she breeds once, she births healthy, robust, crias, she produces excellent milk and she weans her crias when she is ready! Queen is an alpaca managers dream - and has wonderful conformation and fleece too.

Queen will be living out her days here at Windrush Alpacas being kept in the luxury that a Queen expects!

  Windrush Jennifer's Zindel
    Light Fawn, 1182606, Full Peruvian

*** His offspring are now showing and winning. At the recent New Mexico State Fair three of Zin's offspring did their sire proud. Windrush Zindel's Kanika took a second place and Reserve Color Champion, Windrush Zindel's Carissima took a third place and Altiplanos Inka Gold took first place. ***

A striking herdsire, Windrush Jennifer's Zindel carries the best of traits from his sire Dom Lucilio and Grandsires PPPeruvian Royal Fawn and Peruvian Fabio. Zin's dam Enchantment's Peruvian Jennifer was the cornerstone of our breeding program and held her fleece fineness throughout her lifetime.

Broad chested and heavy boned Zin is an alpaca that has always wowed the judges. One judge commented that he had looked at Zin as he entered the ring and hoped that his fleece was as good as the rest of him - the judge was not disappointed. Zin's fleece takes your breath away with its fineness, density, high frequency crimp, small bundles and a spectacular brightness.

In his very first outing, Atlas won his large LB Juvi Male class at the 2009 TxOLAN show. Judge Tim Lavan praised his beautiful fine dense fleece, and overall body style and balance.

There is a funny story about his first show: His handler was showing a BUNCH of alpacas, and had to run full tilt to get Atlas to his class. He was the last in the ring, and had sprinted the lenght of the venue. The sprint was obviously worth it, as during his examination the judge said "You would have kick yourself if you had missed this class" and then gave him the blue ribbon. Whew! What a start to a show career!

Atlas is another fine offspring of Color Champion Herdsire Windrush Jennifer's Zindel. He has rich color genetics from both Zin and his dam ABA Queen of Spades.

Here is a boy you can buy, and bring home ribbons for your farm while you watch him grow into a handsome herdsire.
