Sassy gave birth to a GIRL on October 18, 2008. It was a text-book birth. Sassy has plenty of milk and is very attentive for a first-time mom. We are very proud. The new little girl is white, strong, curious, and a whopping 19 lbs. We have named her Running Bear's Lily White!
Sassy's sire, Uber's Lil' Guy a.k.a. Sully, is a true black with great conformation, coverage, bone, fiber and personality. He collected a blue ribbon from the AOBA National Show in 2002 and 2 more blue ribbons at Michigan International AlpacaFest in fall 2002. He is the herdisre of the future.
Sassy sure is a beauty. We sheared her at 3 days old and got .6 of a lb. She is showing nice crimp, bundling, fineness, and a 6" staple length. We sheard 4.5 lbs. at one year old and 5 lbs at 2 years old.
She is very curious and the first one to have her nose in the grain bowl and head in the new hay. At 2 years old, she is 180 lbs. She is very relaxed and laid back. She is not afraid
**Update 2008** Bear has three more cria on the ground! A true black male a true black female, and a dark fawn female! That's 3 girls and 2 boys so far!
**Bear's first cria is here! A beautiful white boy! His fleece already looks very promising! He has tight crimp and amazing brightness! I can't wait to see how he does in the showring! **His second cria arrived 8/19/2007! A light fawn GIRL! Her fleece is curly with great luster!** Both of these cria are growing very well and look like they will be on the larger side. So on top of everyting else Bear can do he can add size to your babies!
Running Bear is a huge boy! He has very large bone structure and a correct bite. He has consistant crimp, dense fleece with nice bundle. His bloodlines consist of Benchmark's El Capitan (maternal grandfather), Excalibur CODI (paternal grandfather), & Peruvian White Out. He has inherited his mothers great personality and is very easy to handle. He has a typey head and cov
Lily White is truly white. She was born on October 18, 2008 and the first cria to one of our first females. It was very exciting to have one of our first-born females on our farm have her first cria - and it be a GIRL!
Lily is showing consistent crimp, fineness, and bundling. She has a nice bite, straight legs, and will probably be larger boned like her sire and dam.
Her sire, Othello's Running Bear and her dam, Sully's Sassafras, have true black and gray in their backgroud. Even though Lily is white from 2 dark fawn parents, there is color potential. Bear has consistent crimp, quite dense, and nice bundling. Sassy has consistent crimp and wonderful staple length.
Lily's grand parents include El Capitan's Copper Girl, Excalibur's Othello, and Uber's Lil Guy.
Her weight is 75 lbs. She is weaned and currently being halter trained. She is doing quite well with that.
We are offering her for $4,000, a breeding to our new herdsire, Peruvian Rainier who is a Royal Fawn grandson, and a FEMALE GUARANTEE (when she is ready, of course).
