Lily is a lovely girl with great conformation, excellent coverage, and very soft fleece. Her 2007 fiber analysis at age 3 certainly backs up her fiber quality: AFD 19.6 SD 5.1 CV 26 %>30 4.1. Holding that fineness as she gets older and has babies! Not only is Lily fine herself but she has produced the finest cria ever born here. Her son, Nissan, had an AFD of 14.0 at age 6 months! Caruso has phenomenal conformation, heavy bone, excellent coverage, and an excellent head. Caruso's fleece is very fine and uniform, consistent front to back. He sheared 5.2 lbs with a 3.4 lb blanket at 8 months.
Julio Sumar was impressed with the bundling of his fleece, and the uniformity of fleece character and his density. He said Caruso was the complete package, with perfect conformation and coverage and a typey head, as well. Judge Sharon Loner praised his outstanding conformation and the uniformity of his fleece.
Caruso's quality is no surprise. Dad is multiple Get of Sire winner, Peruvian Presidio and mom is Xanadu P. La Boheme, one of the stars of Xanadu Alpacas' foundation herd. Boheme was Reserve Champion Fawn Female at both the National Show and the AAA Futurity in 2002 as a juvenile.
Born on Christmas Eve, Merry is the daughter of two award-winning alpacas. Her sire has won multiple Championships, and her granddam was a Futurity and AOBA Reserve Champion. Her dam's fleece has remained amazingly fine, putting her in the top 1% of alpacas for fineness.
Merry also has a lovely fleece, with nice crimp, and a wonderful, silky handle. She has above average density and fineness as well. Her conformation is correct and she has good presence. Add to that her pretty fleece coverage and she is a beautiful package. Merry has been supplemented with a bottle, making her a friendly alpaca.
