There's not much to say about Conan because his offspring say it all. He is well known for siring crias with bright fleeces with well defined consistent crimp and a buttery handle.
We have not listed Conan’s offspring wins because there are just too many. Conan is the sire of many Champions and well known Champion producing Herdsires including Lancaster and Lord Stanley, among others. In addition to his well known fawn and brown offspring, he has also sired several well known blacks including Kodiak and Black Ice. Many of his cria sell before we have a chance to show them off in the show ring. The photos shown on his webpage are but a small sampling of his offspring.
Melody has just about everything going for her. She is a full Peruvian true black female from outstanding lineage. She is the full sister to 2X true black champion Kodiak and the paternal sister to 6X fawn champion Lancaster.
Mel's bright black fleece is shiny and slick. Her conformation is excellent,and her bite is right on.
Mel is one of only a very few full Peruvain true black girls out of Conan. We happen to own two of them. We are willing to part with either Mel or Raven, but not both. This line is one we definitely want to keep in our own breeding program.
Mel is one gorgeous girl and she had her first cria this summer, a silver grey girl, Peruvian Clarice. We are delighted with Melody's first cria.
We just got her first histogram back. We weren't surprised. With the way she feels and her background genetics, you'd expect such fine, uniform fiber, even on a true black! Her historgram reads micron - 20.8, SD 4.1 and CV 19.6 - these are numbers to be proud of on a white alpaca and Melody is black!! Even better than this - Melody is keeping her fine, uniform fleece as she matures. We were thrilled when we received her latest Yocom-McColl results.
We have bred Melody to Accoyo Stratosphere. Almost without exception all black cria produced by Stra have gone on to be champions. We think pairing Melody with Strat will produce an incredible cria and we can't wait until next summer to find out!
