Ameripaca's Achilles
| |
Medium Rose Grey, 802623, 1/2 Bolivian, 1/2 Chilean
| | | Achilles is sired by the True Black 1995 Bolivian Grand National Champion Herdsire "Acero Marka's Champ", and his dam is the very unique lavender grey Amarilla-Lauca. His color genetics are terrific, but his fiber assessment is even more impressive AND has remained in the low 20's over time! Achilles has great fleece coverage with a strong and very correct build. | |

6/17/08 Kelly delivered a black male cria at 291 or 295 days gestation (no chance these numbers are wrong). Weighs 8 pounds and can cush, stand and walk a little. Heart and lungs are doing well, surprisingly at this early gestation! Wilson's ears are flipped over the top of his head like a hat and teeth are not erupted. Wilson is on Naxcel, had goat colostrum 1st 24 hrs and a plasma transfusion on 6/18, we continue to milk Kelly and supplement with goat milk.
It was a long process and many sleepless nights, but Wilson survived, gaining an ounce and losing two, eventually he got back to birth weight.
6/29 back at 8#! 6/30 8.2# and his left ear is now upright!! 7/8/08 10 pounds!! He prefers momma to bottles so we're done with bottle feeding! End of July 16 pounds!! Life IS good!
We'll put Wilson's story on our web page: www.columbineranch.com
At 18 months, Wilson is now a happy, healthy yearling and ready to give a lucky new owner loads of laughter. He's quite the character.
