Sweet Pea D513 AOA

Light Fawn, 838609

Sweet Pea is a domestic white female who has produced offspring in white, fawn, and black. Her sire, Salomone of Peru, is a son of the famous Hemingway. She is a sturdy built, compact female with good bone, a beautiful head with an incredibly full topknot and excellent coverage from head to toe. Sweet Pea’s fleece has a high frequency, low amplitude crimp, a “buttery” feel and nice brightness.

It it easy to tell which of the alpacas on our farm are Sweet Pea's offspring. All of Sweet Pea's cria - and "grandcria" - have exhibited the same "square" body structure, compact frame, heavy bone, full-fleeced face and excellent coverage. Her son, JRAM's Barney Rubble, sheared 10 pounds of fleece in 2006, with the blanket alone weighing 4.10 pounds.

Sweet Pea is an attentive mother, gives birth easily and has plenty of milk for her crias. Gideon, this year's cria, has been gaining about 1/2 a pound per day. He is a handsome boy who stands out in the pasture with his upright

  JRAM's The Great Santini
    Medium Brown, 1052565

Santini is a large male with heavy bone and a beautiful, upright conformation. With the exception of a tiny silver gray spot on his neck and a few white hairs in his topknot and tail, Santini has a consistent beautiful red-brown color throughout his fleece. His ears and muzzle are a dark brown-black color.

There’s a lot of gray in this boy’s background - his sire, Grey Ledgend, and his dam, Pamplona 9198, are light rose grey, while his grandsire, Legacy 0684, is a light silver grey.

Santini has a medium frequency, low amplitude crimp, excellent “all over” coverage, like his sire, Gray Ledgend, and an awesome head. He has an impressive staple length with a 5+ inches re-growth in less than one year.

Santini's first crias are on the ground - a light brown female and a patterned male (white, red-brown, black, maroon and even a bit of gray) and we are so pleased with them. Both babies have good bone, straight legs and excellent conformation. Their fleece structure

Looking for a male who has the potential to become a herdsire? Then Gideon is the boy for you! Complete coverage from his tight topknot down to his toes and a beautiful full-fleeced face makes Gideon an attention grabber when he’s out in the field. This boy has crimp – a high-frequency, medium amplitude crimp that is consistent throughout his blanket, up into his neck and down into his legs - and there is very little medulated fiber. At 10 months of age, Gideon sheared a total of 4 lbs 8 oz, with a large portion of his leg fiber being sheared as part of his blanket.

His dam, Sweet Pea, “marks” her cria with their fabulous heads. Take a look at her offspring – Sandman, Barney Rubble, Flash Gordon and her “grandchildren” – Sweet William and Tucker. I believe Gideon will pass that trait on to his offspring as well. It is easy to tell which of the alpacas on our farm are Sweet Pea's offspring. All of Sweet Pea's cria - and "grandcria" - have exhibited the same "square" body structure, compact frame, heavy bone, full-fleeced face and excellent coverage - all assets she's passed on to Gideon.

Gideon is a rich, dark fawn color with darker points. When we sheared him, we found 2 black spots on his neck, indicating he’s carrying genes for black – and his dam has thrown black – so we’re thinking Gideon can throw black, too.

Purchase Gideon alone, or to make a nice "starter" package, combine Gideon with your choice of females from our farm and receive a multi-purchase discount. Gideon's price reflects the need to reduce the size of our herd and is not an indication of his quality. Given the opportunity, we feel Gideon will produce beautiful babies.
