Carmaleta

Dark Fawn, 839302, 1/4 Chilean, 3/4 Peruvian

Carmaleta joins our herd as a proven foundation female, capable of producing offspring of award winning merit. Carmy is a deep dark fawn, carrying good density and excellent overall phenotype. Carmy's 2008 offspring, Valentina, is also listed on our site, for reference.

Carmy herself was shown and placed 3rd in halter at GWAS in 2004 and 2nd in fleece at the ABR Fall Festival in 2003. Carmy's 2006 offspring, Maksim, placed First in his white class at GWAS in 2008 under Judge Amanda Vandenbosch. Valentina was shown for the first time in Nov 08 and took a Second at the Fall Fest in Colorado.

Carmy brings some fine traits to a breeding match up. She is solid and well balanced, densely fleeced, well covered with good bone and excellent presence. Carmy is bred for an early fall cria to the impressive multi award winning stud Kanaka. If you have ever seen Kanaka, and had a peek at his fleece, you will know why this cria will be one to watch for in 2009.

Kanaka Wins Male Fawn Reserve Color Championship at GWAS halter and GWAS Fleece Show! Judge Jude Anderson commented that Kanaka is the "Complete Package, he is uniform, dense, and fine". Kanaka won his fourth color championship at 2007 TXOLAN Spectacular. Kanaka bested 33 other entrants in the Male Medium Fawn classes to win the championship. Judge Friedman stated "This boy has it all, character, density, staple length, consistency, and fineness. I noticed him as soon as he walked in the ring; he has a true Macho presence". Kanaka was awarded the 2006 Mid-America Alpaca Show Male Fawn Color Championship under Judge Amy Bliss-Miller. Judge Bliss-Miller commented that it was his fineness and uniformity that placed him ahead of all other competitors. Kanaka was awarded the 2006 MOPACA Dark/Medium Fawn Color Championship. Senior judge Jude Anderson stated; “There really was no question, I noticed this guy as soon as he walked in the ring. He has a sturdy frame and good size. When I ope

Miranda is a lovely fawn, a mirror image of her sire, Fossil Ridge's well known herdsire, Kanaka, 8 time Color Champion son of Avatar. We have always wanted a cria from Kanaka, and were blessed with a female to boot. Miranda appears to have very crimpy dense fleece accented by gorgeous auburn eyelashes and ears.

Each time I look at Miranda she is more attractive. She is growing so well, developing each and every day. Miranda sheared a lovely fleece this spring - Here's a synopsis of her fleece as I see it now: Consistently fawn, very well defined from top to bottom, carrying a long staple length, above average density with excellent character from top to bottom. Very pleasing development in this maiden.

Miranda will be one to watch. We are sure you will be able to pick her out of the herd if you are here for a visit.
