Spicy Lady has decent crimp and wonderful handle on her fiber. She has very good leg coveage with the fiber covering her front toes. Her mothering abilities are outstanding and is an excellent milker. She carries the Accoyo/Alianza cross that has been widely used. Her grandsire was AFA Peruvian Nevar who was sired by PPPeruvian Cordero. Spicy gave birth May 13 to a black 18.5 lb. girl sired by Our Peruvian Black Jag from Avalon Farms that has excellent crimp, brightness and density.
Spicy Lady has been bred to Ark's Zephyriah, our black herdsire that we co-own with Alpacas of the Ark. Zephyriah has outstanding fleece sporting a folicle density of 61.25 Sq MM and SP ratio of 12:1. Zephyriah is one of a handfull of black offspring from the renowned 382 Peruvian Zephyrus. True black from two true black parents, Jag carries color genetics deep with black and grey. In addition to the rich black color, his fiber has wonderful hand and architecture...a fabulous combination!

We purchased Jag to be the perfect complement to daughters coming from our three champion colored herdsires, Snowmass King Crimson, Lace's Peruvian Black Lance,and Avalon's Peruvian Granger. We've already seen the outstanding daughters coming from Crimson and Lance, so we knew we had to find a male worthy of them. We believe Jag is the answer.

Unfortunately, Jag was not shown as a juvenile. Tucked away in a back pasture of a large farm, Jag went unnoticed. Well, that has changed! Since we purchased Jag, we have been eager to get him into the showring. He "came home" in early March 2007 and, as a yearling, had his first experience with a halter and lead. Pimienta (Pepper) is a true black daughter from Our Peruvian Black Jag. Her dam Spicy Lady is a dark brown/bay black girl who has excellent leg fiber coverage, staple length and is a wonder to handle. Pepper has excellent density, brightness and staple. Take a look at her ancestry and you’ll see she comes from a group of outstanding alpacas.

She is a sweet and gentile girl and is always one of the first to greet us in the barn or pasture. This not only is an outstanding looking girl but has the personality to match.
