Starlet O'Hara, 5/8 Accoyo and full Peruvian, is our top Marco Polo daughter of the year 2005. Her fleece is elite elite, i.e. dense, soft, tightly crimped and very well organized into individual staples. Her dam is a Coyo Destini daughter that placed in the national show, and Marco Polo's fleece accomplishments are widely recognized as the best anywhere. Starlet was first bred to PC Running Late, a fawn Titan son with multiple championships to his credit, including Futurity Color Champion. They produced a light fawn female with very fine, crimpy fleece. She then produced a stunning white male sired by Snowmass Perfection. Starlet can be rebred to any of our champion herdsires, but we would suggest an ideal pairing with Snowmass Perfection.
We'd like to thank Magical Farms for allowing us to partner with them on this outstanding fawn male. I remember seeing his fleece at the IAO, and again at the Futurity, in 2003. He was Color Champion in both of those shows. He has a very fine, highly crimped and bundled fleece that has similar characteristics to Marco Polo's, our white fleece king. I personally examined all eight of his offspring in June 2006 and was impressed with the consistency of fineness and crimp that Running Late is throwing. His sire Titan is one of the most highly regarded herdsires in the country, and his dam Mona consistently records a very low CV and fineness. Alongside Crescent Moon's Romeo, Running Late now gives us a first-rate breeding program in fawn, separate from our white line. We look forward to seeing what he puts on the offspring of some of our champion fawn females. Running Late will be at Hummingherd August through November. Running Late's breedings are restricted. He is not available for d
Lizzy is named after our veterinarian, Liz Scott, who saved her from a difficult dystocia at birth. She's shown no signs of problems from her rough start; in fact she's looking better all the time. She placed fourth in her only show as a young yearling, but she looked a little awkward. Now she's filled out and is a very beautiful female. She bred at 16 months of age and had a very beautiful light fawn Legacy de Oro son. Lizzy's fleece is one of our finest, with a fine crimp that runs consistently through her entire blanket. Her third fleece has a MC of 15.9 and a Curvature of 66.4! Whoever purchases her will reap the benefits of our top fawn genetics. We've bred her to Augusto's Cochiti, then next time we plan to breed her to our newest acquisition, Eastwind's Snowstorm. With Lizzy's outstanding fineness and high curvature, we should get an extremely fine, crimpy fleece.
