Glenbar's Dahlia

White, 1436143, 1/2 Bolivian, 1/4 Chilean, 1/4 Peruvian

Dahlia is a Gold Stock granddaughter on her sire's side and a Royal Peruvian Valor (Royal Fawn son) granddaughter on her dam's side! Her soft, fine fiber is milky white except for a patch of light fawn which may contribute to the reason she easily produces cria with color. Dahlia wasn't shown much, but she placed every time shown. Her sire is an amazing multiple blue ribbon winner and color champion. We have bred her to Magnum AON, another champion, for a fall birth. We think this pairing will produce a cria with fantastic qualities of fineness, density, crimp, and conformation. So far, so good and we have color as we thought we would! Dahlia had a healthy, beautiful, brown boy with dark points on September 19th weighing in at 15 pounds. She is a very attentive mom with plenty of milk.
Her boy, KK, is growing quickly and so is his luxurious, crimpy fiber. We can't wait to show him in the spring.

"KK" is 1/16 Accoyo and was 15 pounds at birth, delivered without a hitch. His fleece is bright, ultrasoft and crimpy from head to toe. We were so hoping for an animal with just his coloring, brown with darker points. His lineage includes Royal Fawn, Gold Stock and Silas of Bolivia.

Alas, KK's hind legs are somewhat hocked. Although we think the problem was caused by environmental factors, he will be sold as a non-breeder. The concentrations of ADE injections given were lower than realized since different manufacturers produce injectable vitamins with various strengths. However, his fleece is wonderfully soft and dense, so he would make a great addition to any fiber herd.
