Autumn Blessing #6811

Light Fawn, 801793, Full Peruvian

|
| | | Autumn is a lovely, typey female with light fawn fiber, good conformation, and a sweet disposition. She is an attentive, trouble-free mother who has always had an abundant supply of milk for her crias.
Autumn was imported in utero and was born on Thanksgiving day, the day after we purchased her dark fawn dam...what a blessing...and hence, her name "Autumn Blessing"! Autumn was our very first female cria (preceeded by 5 male crias...Yikes!) and she has always been a favorite. Unfortunately we didn't get a cria from Autumn in 2003 due to an undiagnosed cystic follicle that kept her perpetually receptive. Once the problem was properly diagnosed and treated, she got pregnant right away, just as she's done in the past. Again, in 2005, Autumn was left unbred by our customers and, therefore, did not have a 2006 cria through no fault of her own. Ultimately we repurchased Autumn to return to our herd and bred her to our black Color Champion, Lace's Peruvian Black Lance | |

| | | UPDATE: Rio's first crias are here and look great!
The genetic potential of this full Peruvian male is awesome! He brings together the strengths of the Accoyo(Caligula and Leon) and Cconchatanca bloodlines. Both his dam and his sire have elite white fiber that has retained fineness as they have matured. At the fourth shearing his sire's histogam was AFD=18.3 SD=3.6 CV=19.7% CF=99.7% >30=0.3%!!!! As if that wasn't enough, Rio has a terrific dam, too. Phyllis is one of our outstanding foundation females, representing the awesome result of an Accoyo/Cconchatanca match. She has given us two exceptional crias: Taffeta (now one of our foundation females) and Rio...2 for 2! Phyllis's histogram for her 8th shearing was an outstanding AFD=20.4 SD=4.2 CV=20.3% CF=97.3% >30=2.7%!!!! Talk about maintaining fiber excellence! And, like Montezuma, she offers fineness without sacrificing density. How can Rio not be great?
