Sienna was everything we hoped for from this full Bolivian pairing. She had an unbeatable presence from birth, standing tall and proud, and always alert. Sienna is covered in gorgeous brown fiber from her dense top knot to her fleecy toes! She had a nice show career and is now retired to being a Mom. Sienna has proven herself as a devoted, protective mother, producing beautiful cria. Her first daughter Samantha has been making her proud, as she has already won 8 Blue Ribbons and a Color Championship, and took the Best Huacaya Female in Show at the SAFONA Show in PA as a juvenile!! Sienna will remain in our herd to produce top quality cria for our show string and sale.
Being a colored breeding program, the last thing we were looking for was another white herdsire! However, after getting my hands on Towers, at almost seven years of age, there was no doubt in my mind we needed him for our program! This male has incredible potential to improve the colored fleece in our herds. At his age, his character and crimp style are still well-defined, VERY soft to the hand, and extend well into his belly, legs, and neck with excellent consistency from shoulder to hip. Towers also has a lovely headstyle. Upon researching his pedigree in depth, there is the strong ability to throw color in his background, primarily from his sire, The Portland Kidd, who is an Accoyo Leon son. Towers has been enjoying life on a farm and not used as a herdsire as they own his sire. He produced one offspring, confirming that he can produce color. She was a light brown female out of an old style white Chilean. I was amazed at the incredible improvement in density and fleece character he
WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with our new addition of our first little girl from our new herdsire R.A. Towers!! She is everything we had hoped for when we bred Towers to Sienna. Skye's dam Sienna produced one of our most winning females on the farm out of Tower's half brother. We just love this genetic combination!! Skye's pedigree includes Hemingway, the fawn full Accoyo Pperuvian Leon, The Portland Kidd, and Sayvon de Bolivia to name a few!! One of the females in Skye's pedigree, Eugenia, is listed as having a 14.9 AFD at age 10!! Eugenia produced Sandy, owned by Maplebrook Farms, that Mike Safley said had one of the lowest AFD he had ever seen --somewhere around 13.7! Towers just has outstanding fiber, and we specifically purchased him to add his fiber qualities into our darker females. He has proven his ability to do this with Skye!! Sienna is a beautiful, correct, dense full Bolivian female out of Alpacas of America's Sayvon de Bolivia. This line has produced quality animals in dark colors--even gray!! One AOBA judge described Skye's half sister as "sinking your hands into marshmallow fluff!" as he awarded her the Color Champion Banner!! Skye's sire Towers has incredible softness to his fleece at his age, and maintains superior character, as evidenced by his Blue Ribbon awarded by Amanda Vandenbosch at the 2009 AFCNA Fleece Show!! Skye's fleece at day one was just spectacular!! The photos don't begin to do it justice. She is extremely soft and her density is evident already. She has poker straight legs and an amazing presence. She is curious and just into investigating everything!! We anticipate wonderful things from this little girl in the future and cannot wait to get her in the show ring!! Continue to watch for updated photos and REACH FOR THE SKYE!!
