Oprah's fiber has maintained it's finess through four pregnancies. She gave birth to her first cria 5/3/02 a gorgeous 20.2 lb, dark brown female, sired by PCA Destino, the son of Camilio. On 6/8/03 Oprah gave birth to her second female. This time an apricot sired by PCA Destino. That color must be from Camilio. Oprah gave birth to her THIRD female cria on August 30, 2004 sired by Royal Peruvian Canaan. This youngster appears to have all the makings of a quality show animal. We're so satisfied with the pairing of Oprah and Canaan, we're breeding them back. APRIL 17, 2006 IT'S ANOTHER GIRL. Oprah delivered an 18.4 pound, medium brown, female cria without complication. This female is a carbon copy of her beautiful sire. She has his color and his presence. She started eating paca food at three weeks and at five weeks weighs 41.2 pounds. She's halter and lead broke already and a favorite of guests.
We've bred Oprah back to Bart for a spring 2007 cria just to see what
Dupioni's Vintage Kalahari
Light Fawn, 1373738, Full Peruvian
We are very pleased to introduce Kalahari. We were looking for a male with a neutral color, great crimp and coverage that we could use on all of our females. We got all that and much more. Kal's fleece is exquisite with wonderful crimp from skin to tip, uniform throughout with a beautiful shine. Kal was eager to prove himself. It took only one exposure to get his first female pregnant. He now has three females due in '08. We're anxious to see what he will produce.
Kal's sire wasn't shown until he was four years old and THEN received a 1st in halter and went on to receive the Color Champ award with praise from Judge Tim Lavan. Kal was never shown until the MOPACA Invitational in St. Louis were he received 4th out of a class of 10. The competition was tough, the weather was less than desirable and Kal had only been halter trained for a couple of months. We were happy with his placing and looked forward to showing him again in the fall. He's a beautiful male. If yo
Too bad Copper isn't one of the 22 natural Colors because this female is definately COPPER. She's gorgeous! She is the SEVENTH daughter our our JA Oprah. Oprah was one of our original purchases and we've bred her to several different males. The results were always a quality female and Orchid is no exception. Her conformation is flawless, she has a wonderful soft hand,(check out her histogram) good coverage and very uniform. Her lineage includes Elitus! Lilly's Accoyo Dupioni! Pperuvian Felix! Peruvian Aladin! She's an all around great girl and available to purchase. Her fiber analysis confirms what I suspected. She's got very fine fleece and very uniform. Her dam has held her numbers extremely well and I would expect the same from Orchid.
Orchid delivered her first cria on October 10, 2011. This female is out of our Snowmass Quechua's Chaccoyo. She's a beautiful medium fawn with white on her head and around her neck. She's very dense, like her sire and soft as a cloud (see her listing, Quechua's Karma)
Orchid has been selected to be included in our New Marketing Program. Call for an appointment to meet Orchid and discuss the details of her purchase.
We have a brand new package that includes Orchid. Contact us today about our 10 for 10 package. It's the best buy and she's a wonderful part of that package.
Orchid's results from the certified sorter on 10/19/13 were: (2011) 1,2 with 3.70 pounds (2012) 1,2 with 2.09 pounds (2013) 1,2 with 1.90 pounds. Combined with her sister, Octavia's fiber, we'll have plenty a beautiful brown yarn. Orchid has a sweet disposition, easy to work with and easy to breed. She is ready for breeding and waiting for a new owner to take care of it.
