| | | Seldom does one see this kind and quantity of suri locks with a micron count below 20. However, Lightning Locks is not your typical male. Few males can claim ownership to four white Championships in one year, all in major alpaca shows. Lightning Locks' pedigree goes back to one of the top Accoyo suri herdsires ever, Pperuvian Uribe (Durazno). We think Lightning Locks' pictures, fiber analyses, and show record speak adequately for him. No sooner did Lightning Locks complete his phenomenal show career than he started settling females, at just over two years of age. Lightning Locks is co-owned by Shadowland Ranch Suri Alpacas, Defiance, Missouri, and Thunder River Alpacas, Cumming, Georgia, and he comes from two of the premier alpaca herds in the country, Snowmass and Latah Creek. LCA Lightning Strike, a son of Lightning Locks who already had numerous blue ribbons and Championships to his credit, was Supreme Champion Suri Fleece at the 2008 International Alpaca Odyssey. | |

When we see "Posey" standing out in the field, our first impression is usually that we're seeing her sire, Lightning Locks, on the wrong side of the fence, so striking is the similarity between the two -- same well-locked lustrous fleece, same big bone, same perfect conformation, same coverage. In breeding for Posey, we added to Lightning Locks' Accoyo blood the Accoyo blood in her dam's pedigree, from Pperuvian Baron. For Posey's first breeding, we chose Maserati of PVA, who will add additional Accoyo blood to the offspring, from Torbio. Since Lightning Locks has himself let color through in his offspring, siring even black and gray crias, we won't be surprised if his daughter produces a colored cria from the breeding to Maserati. Whatever color, it should have excellent fiber and conformation, with extraordinary coverage.
Financing of Posey is available for up to three years, with at least 20% down and monthly payments at 4% interest.
