Chiquita

Medium Rose Grey, 809919, Full Chilean

Chiquita was the first rose grey import to enter the United States. She does not have an official DOB on her registration, however, I would say she is about 13 or 14 years old. She is a small framed girl who takes the lead out in the pasture everyday. She is at the top of the pecking order and takes no "crap" from anyone! Chiquita has perfectly straight legs, full coverage to the toes and no spots! She also has no tuxedo and is covered in soft, crimpy rose grey fiber.

Chiquita is a great mother. She has plenty of milk and watches over her crias in the most protective of ways. She is also an easy breeder and can carry a pregnancy and nurse well into the next pregnancy. Her offspring seem to grow larger than her, so her smallish frame may have been environmentally caused from lack of "the best" nutrition on the alti-plano. Chiquita has given us five beautiful females - see Rosie Godiva (Breeders Edge Auction 2005),Ganache (Florida Breeders Auction 2006) and in December 2

UPDATE: 7 female crias on the gound...5 MEDIUM ROSE GREYs DUPLICATE OF CRUSADER (Out of a solid TB females and a rose grey female), also a drg female cria out of a solid modern rose grey dam, and a TB female out of a TB dam. 100% FEMALEs so far!! Half accoyo and rose grey perfection! What a great combination of grey and fawn genetics! So, he is a female producer! That's very important if you are buying a male! more important if you are buying a breeding! He is crimpy and soft, with bright and glossy fiber. No spots -- NONE!! His feet are white as is his forhead, grey ears, then rose grey throughout. Crimp is out of this world!! He is LOADED with density, crimp and brightness... almost like a platinum sheen ....Mary Reed estimated his micron at 14-16 microns and said there was absolutely no guard hair in the sample she pulled to inspect! Of course his sire and dam have been re-bred for a repeat performance! Check out his full sister, Crystal, she is the AOBA Juvenille rose grey
