MELINKA 127

Dark Rose Grey, 184317 , Full Chilean

Melinka is an early import who has proven to be highly prolific and a wonderful mother producing quality offspring. She has, almost all grey cria.
Although she may not appear as "beautiful" as she did in her heyday, she still has the sweetest face, and even after many years of mothering and advanced age her fiber is still fine soft, with a great hand.
This is one amazing alpaca. She has been a treasured foundation female for A Craftsman's Touch Alpaca Company, and our's Crown Point at the Green Alpaca.

  Neruda's King Solomon
Dark Silver Grey, 1053616, Full Chilean

Solomon is the son of one of the most well-known “Black Point Grey” males in the country, Patagonia’s NERUDA. Right of the bat we saw that he had perfect conformation, lovely soft, crimpy fleece, and that gorgeous “Neruda” head. From juvenile through adulthood, Solomon came home with ribbons from every show I brought him to. At MAPACA as a juvenile he placed 2nd in a huge halter class under Dr. Sumar, continued his winning in fleece shows across the country, and went on to win the BLUE in halter at the North American Alpaca Show under Judge Amanda Vandenbosch.

Solomon’s fleece color has always been complex and unique – a very dark silver gray, shaded with and tipping out in rose/brown – which proved to be a challenge to the color checkers at the shows. He has shown in many different color classes during his career – from bay-black, to gray, to rose-gray. If he were to be shown now, I believe he would be placed into the new “Modern Gray” class. Whatever color you call him, si

This is Eragon. He is coming up to breeding age. His name came about as his mom is one of our oldest foundation females an early import with lasting fineness in GREY. We have deeply appreciated her incredible contribution to the genetics in our herd, passing on her lasting fineness and beautiful modern solid grey in both silver solid grey and dark rose grey. Eragon is sired by Neruda's King Solomon, himself a solid silver grey. Eragon displays the same long staple, beautiful coloration and fineness that this line from both Neruda and Melinka consistently produce. Eragon is the duplicate image of his mother in color. He has one small white spot on his neck, exactly like his mom.
We don't know how many more cria Melinka will offer the alpaca world, but we know she is , has, and will always be a valuable , and impact influence maintaining one of the fineness fleeces over many many years. Melinka is a terrific mother, and passes that quality on to all her daughters.
If fineness that lasts is something you need in your herd consider Earagon... you wont be disapointed.
I should have sort and grade information soon on this beautiful male.
Call us or email if you would like more information or a fiber sample let us know!
