MSA Peruvian Verbena
Medium Fawn, 812364, Full Peruvian
Verbena is one of our best females on the farm. Not only does she have a wonderful pedigree (1/2 Accoyo, 1/2 Sollocota), but she maintains a fine, dense fleece even after producing 6 cria. She is also the dam to MSA Pinot Noir, an outstanding black stud on the west coast. Her breeding to El Nino gave us a beautiful light fawn male, Valerian, who has done an outstanding job in the show ring thus far. Verbena has an easy going nature she passes on to her cria. Her next cria, out of Ndume, is a black female, Vixen. Her beauty makes her a "vixen," but she has the same calm temperment mom has. In 2009 she gave us "Voyageur" out of Sinbad. Now we await the results of this next breeding...!
Vixen last gave birth on Sept 19, 2010 to a med fawn female out of Snowbelt's Killarney, a male from Snowbelt Alpaca's outstanding breeding program. His bloodlines are from the original imported alpacas that Trish handpicked in Peru and are therefore not related to any other common bloodlines. His herdsire, Curly Clay, is now owned by Ameripaca. Killarney's dam is PPPeruvian Arequipa Kiss, who should be considered an impact female. One of her daughters, Snowbelt Lexus, sold at the futurity auction to Anthony Stachowski for over $60,000 and she was also the color champion.
Killarney was never shown because Snowbelt had been out of the show ring for several years as they worked on growing their other businesses.
Vixen's first cria, Flash of Brilliance (sold), had beautiful fleece-more surprising since he was a light fawn out of 2 blacks. He even placed 2nd at MAPACA in 2010.
Vixen is out of our Verbena and, the now deceased, My Peruvian Ndume so you will have the chance to get some nice genetics. Especially with the breeding she has which is why I'm hesitant to let her go. But then that's my problem with all the girls I breed. I don't want to sell them until I see what they can produce out of the male I use. And pretty soon I have more alpacas to breed and see what I can create!
Vixen has the same laid back personality all of Verbena's offspring born on our farm have had. Her fleece has beautiful consistent crimp and density.
