This is an exquisite female. Obviously the judges agree. She has done extremely well in the show ring, finishing her show career by winning the National Blue Ribbon under Nard Mullen! (No championship offered)We are very proud of her and she attracted a lot of attention wherever we took her. Lynne Iveneski, Ashleigh's breeder and original owner, once described her to me as "a puff-ball of fleece". Covered from head to toe with dense fleece, she is a rare black and white pinto. Her fleece carries a wonderful hand as is evidenced by her CV of only 17.1! Ashleigh has a beautiful head, just bursting with fiber, and extremely correct conformation. She is very friendly and often comes over to give me "kisses" on my nose to greet me at feeding time. She came to the farm and fit right in without a fuss. She assumed the big sister role to some of the younger females in her pen and playfully enjoys their company. We look forward to absolutely awesome cria from her. Ashleigh has nothing but true
Do you have a passion for true black? Maximus is a gorgeous non-fading true black male, with a beautiful typey head, perfect conformation, good fleece character and density, wonderful bone, and the best leg coverage we have seen on a black. A well-respected international judge recently commented on Maximus after he took the blue ribbon at PAOBA's Breeder's Showcase: "From the minute he entered the ring, he commanded your attention. He has a presence like no other animal in the ring with him." He oozes with self-confidence and masculinity, seeming to always be posed for the camera. We receive numerous inquiries about Maximus wherever we take him. Another judge mentioned that "You will not find a truer, deeper black!" He carries himself proudly, as well he should. A multiple ribbon winner himself, in both halter and fleece competitions, he is a carbon copy of his famous true black father and multiple champion Mephisto. His pedigree is filled with famous names. His true black dam, El
Shearing Weight 2009: 5.6 Pounds Total Weight at 13 Months of Age!!
It is so very rewarding to see your thoughts behind a breeding work out after waiting 11 1/2 months to see what your planning has accomplished!! From the minute Maxine was born, we felt she was going to be very special. As black as ink, a non-fading true black little girl graced our presence. Maxine's sire and dam both had winning show careers, with both of them taking multiple 1st Place ribbons--even at the AOBA National Show. Maxine has just a stunning head, full coverage from head down through her toes, great bone circumference in her legs, fabulous conformation, and a pleasant disposition to work with. Diana Timmerman described her fleece as having a bolder crimp style, but extremely uniform from shoulder to rear, and a lovely consistent fineness for her age. Her phenotypically pleasing style, along with this fineness and consistency of fleece is what won Maxine the coveted Female Black Color Champion at MAPACA!! She placed over some absolutely beautiful females, including a stunning black Lancaster daughter that had 10 Color Championships prior to MAPACA!! It is a shame Maxine did not get to strut her stuff in front of some other judges for her show career, as I have no doubt she would have been quite competitive. Maxine is a gorgeous girl, and you could see heads turn to look at her as she walked down the pen aisles at the show. We are extremely proud of her accomplishment, and we look forward to anticipation of the cria that she will "criate" for us with the elite males we will select for her breeding.
