Prairie's Pangaea, aka Gigi, is a powerhouse of genetics. She exhibits all of the qualities we look for in an "A" class female and is more impressive each and every day. Each time we evaluate Gigi, it is a pleasing result. Her conformation is strong and her fleece is flat out stunning. We entered her fleece in the AFCNA Continental Fleece Show '08; she was awarded First Place in her class of 9 Lt fawns and went on to receive the Color Champion of all Light females. She has since gone on to be awarded several more First Placements, in fleece and halter, a "Best Hand" in fleece, and many many more high placements. She has placed well in every show she has entered: both halter and fleece. She is just a gorgeous female, and she should be.
Gigi's lineage is full Peruvian lines with the best in the Hemi-Accoyo cross. Her dam is from the (Victor & El Moustachio)lines of proven producers, maintaining fine dense fleeces into their mature years. Gigi is one of the first cria's
Awesome Full Peruvian male out of MFI Peruvian Donovan and Peruvian Golden Chardonnay. His fiber is wonderfully crimpy, exhibits beautiful bundling, is both soft and bright and his conformation is excellent. Everyone remarks on how dense Bronson is, while still carrying a fine, fine fleece.
He comes from great lines on both sire and dam's side and his show career to date has earned him multiple 1st place ribbons as well as a color championship.
At shearing time this past spring, we were very pleased with Bronson. Not only is he a stunning young male, he sheared an impressive and heavy 8.2lb blanket of amazing fiber at 11 months of growth! Not bad considering he wasn't even two years old yet! Needless to say, Bronson is dense dense dense, and oh so fine. Really a stunning fleece from a superb animal.
As a mature, breeding herdsire, Bronson is still bringing home the Purple and Blue Ribbons. He was recently awarded Color Champion and First Place at the Arkan
Pannotia is the first cria from Pangaea, the most awarded female we have raised on our farm. We expected Pangaea's offspring to be special, and she most definitely is that and more.
Tia as we call her around the farm, is quite a looker. She is a "mini me" of what Pangaea looked like as a cria. Lovely fawn fleece, curls all over, density above and beyond and oh so soft! She was shorn this summer and the fleece she is growing in is impressive with a capital "I".
Not only does Tia have a multi champion dam, she has a multi champion sire in Majestic Peruvian Bronson. When you take a look at her lineage, you will quickly realize she is locked and loaded with elite genetics on board to include: PCA Hemingway Accoyo Nautilus, PPeruvian Camilio, PPeruvian Leon, PPeruvian El Moustachio, PPeruvian Victor, MFI Peruvian Donovan, PPPeruvian Augusto, 6Peruvian AccoyoGrandTriumph, Peruvian King and others. Tia has the potential to be a cornerstone of an elite breeding program.
Tia is an alpaca you should look at if you are interesting in "A" class breeding stock. She is the full package and will be ready to breed this fall. She is for sale, if you are interested, give us a call to schedule a visit to meet this lovely, curious and sweet paca.
Tia will be bred this spring, so stay tuned!
