Calico Rose is a well-balanced, well-grown, gorgeous silver grey girl with excellent conformation and great presence all topped off with a beautiful typey Huacaya head! Her fiber is fine with a very soft handle, excellent staple length and moderate crimp and density. She won 4th place in a class of 13 juvenile silver grey females at the 2005 Great Western Alpaca Show where her lovely head and face drew praise from Judge Amanda Van den Bosch. At the Mid-America Alpaca Show, she won first place in her halter class and was the third place bred and owned huacaya female. Her medium silver grey sire is the son of Peruvian Olympus. Her dam, PFF Sylvia, has the excellent presence and conformation of her sire, Acero Marka's Wooly Bully, and the grey genetics of her dam, Silver Lining, who is a daughter of The Silversmith. In 2007 Calico Rose had a beautiful true black female (PFF Omarosa) by Strider of the Shire and she has been bred back to him for a repeat performance. In her show ring debut

Black Ice was awarded "Supreme Champion Huacaya Male" at the 2007 Mason City, Iowa International show by Dr.Julio Sumar and Su Lenk(UK)! This is the award given to the top male huacaya of the entire show, regardless of age or color, and rarely goes to a non-white alpaca, let alone a black. Dr.Sumar called Black Ice "a perfect black alpaca". No doubt this stunning young male is going to go on to become an elite herdsire. He's packed with excellent black and gray genes from both sides of his pedigree. His dam is NeverSummer's Monsoon, an award-winning, silver gray, Silver Charm daughter. Silver Charm consistently passed on his wonderful hand, striking presence and mellow temperament to his offspring and has maintained his fleece quality for many years.
This handsome up and coming young male has a champion pedigree full of blacks and grays. His true black sire, NeverSummer's Black Ice, has won multiple color championships and his beautiful silver grey dam, PFF Bandit's Calico Rose who is a ribbon winner herself, is the fraternal half-sister of the multiple color champion silver grey male, Bisturi. Santana's maternal half siblings are both true black and show winners, too. Half-sister, PFF Omarosa has a color championship and reserve championship under her belt. Santana's pedigree includes Aladdin of KPR, Lanark's Silver Charm, The Silversmith, Acero Marka's Wooly Bully, Peruvian Olympus and Peruvian Drambuie. He is BVDV negative. We will retain several breedings to him.
