| | | How many times have you admired the beautiful suri on the ARI website homepage? (She has also graced a cover of Alpacas Magazine.) Well, Venezia is that suri's full sister, and she is just as beautiful. Not only that, she is just as rare, being one of the decreasing number of full Bolivian suris in the United States. We first bred Venezia to our full Bolivian herdsire, Macho Grande, resulting in a beautiful black spunky blue ribbon-winning full Bolivian female cria, RFSS Roma (Sold!). While Roma grew to be a very nice young lady, we then went an entirely different direction with Venezia, breeding her to white multi-Champion Snowmass Lightning Locks, as we continue to be so impressed by his award-winning offspring. | | | Seldom does one see this kind and quantity of suri locks with a micron count below 20. However, Lightning Locks is not your typical male. Few males can claim ownership to four white Championships in one year, all in major alpaca shows. Lightning Locks' pedigree goes back to one of the top Accoyo suri herdsires ever, Pperuvian Uribe (Durazno). We think Lightning Locks' pictures, fiber analyses, and show record speak adequately for him. No sooner did Lightning Locks complete his phenomenal show career than he started settling females, at just over two years of age. Lightning Locks comes from two of the premier alpaca herds in the country, Snowmass and Latah Creek. LCA Lightning Strike, a son of Lightning Locks who already had numerous blue ribbons and Championships to his credit, was Supreme Champion Suri Fleece at the 2008 International Alpaca Odyssey. Second Place Brown Yearling Female, 2010 Royal Alpaca Challenge, at just 12 months of age in a class of eight. As the youngest in her class, she stood second to a female who was nearly twice Birthday Girl's age and, therefore, nearly twice her size.
