Victor's Accoyo Mele
White, 823183, Full Peruvian
Mele is a large, very dense 3/4 Accoyo Victor daughter and Hemingway granddaughter that won the AOBA halter show in white. It's not very often that you can purchase a girl of this calibre off the farm, but we were fortunate enough to do so at Timberland Alpacas, home of both Victor and Hemingway. Mele gave us a gorgeous Perfection daughter that is softer and crimpier than anything we've seen so far. With results like that, we bred her back to him and got a male--perfect. More recently, her Leviathan son is a sure show sensation, with very dense, fine crimpy fleece. We've bred her back to him.
Leviathan is the herdsire to take our elite fleece breeding program to the next level. He is the son of a very dense, crimpy and superfine Hemingway daughter and Accoyo Poseidon, so his grandsires are Caligula and Hemingway. Levi's fleece is superdense, very fine and the tight crimp and long staple length makes him one of the top white Peruvian herdsires in the country. He took first place in a class of 11 white yearling males in the AOBA Fleece Show, scoring 88 points from Cameron Holt. He scored 20/20 for fineness and handle. Then in the AOBA Fiber to Fashion the same fleece won White Color Champion! Most recently, Levi won first place in the 2008 AOBA Fleece Show in the 2YO White Males Class, a class that included Snowmass Best Man and Snowmass Overture, Rembrandt by El Nino, and Crescent Moon's Shiftin' Gears, males who have dominated the showring and the fleece shows over the last couple of years. The same fleece took color champion and the trophy for Judges Choice at the 2009
Nadal is an elite son of Hummingherd's Leviathan and an AOBA-winning Victor daughter and Hemingway granddaughter. His sire Leviathan is a Poseidon son and Hemingway grandson who won the AOBA fleece show two years in a row over some amazing competition. Nadal's older brother, also a Leviathan son, has won nine blue ribbons in regional shows and three championships just into his third show season! We expect great things from Nadal too; his fleece is amazing in its brightness, consistency, fineness and even density. Overall we love these Leviathan line fleeces more than any we've ever produced. Nadal won his first show at six months of age, but a tender fleece limited his 2011 show appearances. But he was the Comeback Kid at IAO in the Cottage Division as a yearling, when he won first place and Color Champion. If you're looking for a marquis white herdsire you may want to take a look at Nadal sometime this year. We now have five elite herdsires in this line, so he may be available.
