Look at the recent fleece histogram results on CCAP Golden Rumm!! And coming from a Black herdsire and dam, we're even more impressed!! But when you consider that Rumm Runner, 10x Champion and 2008 AOBA National Halter and Fleece Champion is the herdsire, and carrying a micron of 21.1 at 6 years of age, we're not surprised! Taking 3rd in a large, competitive class at 2012 MAPACA, the judge commented that ANY of the placing males should be leading a breeding program!
CCAP Golden Rumm has amazing fleece! Just look at the fineness, brightness and well organized crimp on this young male! This certainly impressed the judges at the 2011 Royal Alpaca Challenge in Georgia, where Golden Rumm was awarded COLOR CHAMPION, and at the 2011 Kentucky Classic as Golden Rumm stepped up from 2nd place to take the Reserve Color Championship! Sired by 10x Black Champion and 2008 AOBA National Halter and Fleece Champion, Rumm Runner, Golden Rumm's fleece has that WOW FACTOR!! We are not surprised by his fleece, considering that both his dam and sire have amazing fleece.
At the 2011 Huron County Spring Alpaca Show, the Judge placed Golden Rumm 1st in his Class, calling him the clear winner and giving him strong consideration for Reserve Champion (it went to his paternal brother, Runner's Hot Buttered Rum) and had glowing comments for him as well! Well-balanced, great phenotype, fine bright fleece with long staple length and density that at first glance didn't appear to be there, a tight high-frequency crimp, AND a soft buttery hand!! Did we leave anything out?? But considering his sire, 10x Champion Rumm Runner, we're not surprised!
