Deli's Delicacy
White, 1116236, Full Peruvian
Delicacy is a classic Haldane offspring, with a gorgeous, fully covered head, and a dense, very crimpy fleece that won her the White Female Color Championship in a Level V show over some of the stiffest competition in the country. Then she went on to win the Color Championship in the AFCNA national fleece show. Her mother bred at an early age without any problem, and Delicacy followed in her mother's footsteps; she's already given us three champion quality females, one by Cochiti who won Color Champion at Northwest, then sold to Pamela Ray as the third highest selling Huacaya female in the AOBA auction. Delicacy's Marco Polo daughter has her dam's density, fineness, crimp and beauty. Definite showgirl--took second in her first show and a ribbon at AOBA. Then she won Color Champion at the Southwest Regional and Reserve Champion at the Northwest show as a yearling. These two girls won for Delicacy the Produce of Dam blue ribbon at the Northwest Alpaca Showcase. Next Delicacy gave us
Leviathan is the herdsire to take our elite fleece breeding program to the next level. He is the son of a very dense, crimpy and superfine Hemingway daughter and Accoyo Poseidon, so his grandsires are Caligula and Hemingway. Levi's fleece is superdense, very fine and the tight crimp and long staple length makes him one of the top white Peruvian herdsires in the country. He took first place in a class of 11 white yearling males in the AOBA Fleece Show, scoring 88 points from Cameron Holt. He scored 20/20 for fineness and handle. Then in the AOBA Fiber to Fashion the same fleece won White Color Champion! Most recently, Levi won first place in the 2008 AOBA Fleece Show in the 2YO White Males Class, a class that included Snowmass Best Man and Snowmass Overture, Rembrandt by El Nino, and Crescent Moon's Shiftin' Gears, males who have dominated the showring and the fleece shows over the last couple of years. The same fleece took color champion and the trophy for Judges Choice at the 2009
Delassandro is the son of Hummingherd's Leviathan, a Poseidon son with multiple fleece show winnings at the highest levels. His dam is Deli's Delicacy, a GWAS Color Champion in her own right, with three champion daughters: Delassandro's sister Delicious, a NWAS champion, sold to Xanadu Farms Alpacas in the AOBA auction. His sister Delight was an SWRAS champion, and his sister Delicata won champion at NWAS and is one of the finest alpacas we've ever produced. Delassandro's paternal brother, Levi's 501, has nine regional show blue ribbons and three championships just into his third show season. Delassandro looks like more of the same, and in particular, his outstanding head type should complement a very dense, very fine fleece. We launched his show career at NWAS, where he placed third at just 6.5 months of age. The judge said the top three were very close. As a yearling, Del netted a first place at both SWRAS and IAO Commercial division. Delassandro is developing into an elite herdsire.
