| | | This Marco Polo daughter is at the cutting edge of our genetic improvement program. Her fleece exhibits the same bundling that made her sire the Reserve Color Champion and Mill's Choice winner in the 2004 AOBA Fleece Show. And her Caligula-line dam was the winner of the Fred Walker trophy for the most fleece points in the 2001 AOBA Fleece Show. Besides her MC of 15.8, Troy's SD of 2.4 is one of the best we've seen and shows amazing consistency within her fleece. She also won first place in the White Yearling Female class in the AFCNA National Fleece Show, the same show in which her sire won White Male Champion and the "Spirit of Fiber Industry" award at five years of age. Then she topped that by winning Reserve Champion and Best Handle Award in the Fiber to Fashion Fleece Show. | | | Perfection is here! We are so happy to put a male of this calibre into our breeding program. He is a show winner at the National level. He is producing show winners; for example, his progeny swept the juvenile white and beige female classes at AWE 2004...first, second and third! He has won Get of Sire. He won Breeders best Three! And also Bred and Owned for Snowmass! His mother Snowmass Wedding Pacabells, a Don Julio daughter in the Alianza line, is a Futurity champion. His father is Accoyo Legacy, who is now the $1.5 million male! That makes Perfection an Alianza/Accoyo mix..the best of the best.
For us Snowmass Perfection represents everything we like in a huacaya. Our co-owner Jude Anderson judges thousands of alpacas all over the US and overseas every year. EPDs: #4 among white males on ARIlist in Standard Deviation (SD), and #6 in all the Registry. Also in top 10% in AFD, Spin Fineness, and Staple Length.
Trojan is the son of Snowmass Perfection and Hummingherd's Troy, a Marco Polo daughter who won the Spirit of Fiber Industry award in the AFCNA fleece show. Trojan is the youngest of eight Perfection sons born to us in 2009, but as he grows his high breeding is becoming more apparent, and he is surely destined for a breeding career. Although his AFD is pretty average for our Perfection offspring (17.7), the impressive thing about this boy is his CV of 16.6 and SD of 2.9. This consistency runs down through his dam line from his granddam, CMR Peruvian Marzipan, a light fawn Caligula granddaughter who won the Fred Walker Trophy for most points in the AOBA Fleece Show. So Trojan has the best fleece genes imaginable, and will throw them. Trojan should be breeding sometime in 2012
