Great News!....Tara Rose had a 16# baby girl today 6/6/11. We are naming her "Mamie" in honor of "D" Day! Tara Rose is an excellent mother with a history of producing excellent offspring. Tara is 1/2 Peruvian (Alianza)and 1/2 Chilean. She is one of the older females that we purchased to help start our herd, and she adds a very "calming" presence. You just can't beat these older girls who just "git 'er done"!! She just does her thing to help keep the younger pacas in line. We have recently moved Tara from foundation and placed her for sale. She will be placed in a number of packages with younger girls in order to add some experience to folks looking to purchase a package. We bred Tara Rose to our own Alex/Arod for a June 2011 cria, which should prove to be a pretty awesome blending! If you have any interest in Tara or any of the other girls on the farm let us know. We can do "designer packages" and have a number of breeding age girls on the farm we could package
Prestons Alicoyo Alex
Light Fawn, 30941434, Full Peruvian
Prestons Alpacas and Mobee Mountain Alpacas are proud to introduce our next Jr. Herdsire. Prestons Alicoyo Alex or A-rod as he is known around the farm is the finest cria we have yet produced. He is a 5/8 Accoyo 3/8 Alianza out of our most valuable female Miss Hillary. A-Rod is a grandson of Royal Fawn and Accoyo Don Juan, and also lists Peruvian Augusto as a Great Grandfather. A-rod's mom Miss Hillary has previously produce 3 males, all of whom are presently at stud, and we simply cannot wait for this killer to start his career. We had not planned to list Alex as a Jr. sire so soon, however, on a recent farm visit we had a farm who reserved two breeds to our Jr. Sire My Accoyo Doc Holliday, when they saw Alex they asked if they could also reserve a breed to him when he is ready. Of course they could, and since then we have another farm who has looked at him and also advised that they would like to breed to him down the road!! What can we say, we are so proud of this little guy
Ah...Mamie Rose. Selecting her name was easy as she was born on "D" Day. Our other cria born on "D" Day was a boy named Commander Ike, so "Mamie" was fitting! She is adorable! She has thick and shiny beautiful brown fiber. Looks kind of "coppery". And then, there is her personality....what a cut-up! The farm visitors all love her! She is growing tall, straight and fast! Her lineage includes Peruvian Celebre, PPPeruvian Don Juan, PPPeruvian Augusto on Mom's side, and our herd sire ALEX, Miss Hillary and PPPeruvian Royal Fawn on Dad's side!! Seems like they all threw their best into her---Whew!! We expect great things from this little girl as the "Rose" girls have been a strong part of our herd building program! They all follow the pattern of being easy going with strong mothering instincts, easy births, easy keepers and instill a calming influence on the whole herd. Great, great alpacas to have in your herd!! Mamie can be purchased now, with possession after she is weaned and she'll come to you with two free breeds to any of our non-related herdsires when she is ready. She will also be added in a couple of packages so keep an eye out for those. Check out this little beauty, available as soon as she is weaned!
