| | | Thai Blossom is one beautiful full Accoyo alpaca. She comes from top-notch lineage and has the elite fiber representative of her impressive genetics. She has also proven she can reproduce these sought after Accoyo fleece characteristics in her offspring.
Blossom has Caligula as a paternal grandsire & Zen Do as a maternal grandsire. Her Caligula genes come by the way of Sire, Accoyo American Atticus, a multiple champion at impressive shows including the 2003 AOBA Reserve Champion in the class most difficult to ribbon in - white! He is very dense and very fine with a 15.7 micron count. Blossom's maternal grandsire, Accoyo Zen Do is out of the rare Accoyo- B line. This is the select line Julio Barreda bred for fineness and perfect uniformity of fleece. Pacific Crest described Zen Do as the perfect embodiemnt of this line. It is because of these elite genetics that Thai Blossom has the fiber she does.

We were surprised & shocked when we entered the barn & there was this tiny dark fawn boy curled up next to Thai Blossom. First of all, she was no where near her due date, & second of all Thai Blossom comes from pure white lineage & has never produced anything but white. We quickly scooped him up and began evaluating him. He was premature, weighed in at 11 lbs, had floppy ears & was way down on his pasterns. We knew this little guy might not make it.
Our friend, Debbie from Rock Garden Alpacas, was coming over to see her 2 cria quite frequently. Each time she came to visit, he looked healthier, stronger & more sure of himself. She loved the stamina this guy showed & his strong desire to thrive. She named him Defiant. She said he would defy the odds and make it. We're so glad Debbie was right!
Now you could never tell Defiant was a premie or was ever in danger. His resilience defied the odds, & we are now lucky enough to own the darkest full Accoyo Invasion has made to date.
If you're not familiar with Defiant's sire, Accoyo Invasion, he is an 8X champion w/ 16 blue ribbons, The Best Brightness Award & The Judge's Choice Award. His cria have rocked in the show ring & earned more than 18 championships. Invasion cria have taken the Best Brightness Award 6X, 3 different cria have taken the Best Crimp Award & Invasion son, Ideuma Creek's Bo Jangles, has captured the most coveted Judge's Choice Award. Defiant is in elite company among his paternal siblings. Defiant is Thai Blossom's first cria here on our farm, but his maternal lineage adds Zen Do & Caligula to his pedigree.
The future for this guy is as bright as the stars. He is the darkest full Accoyo Invasion has ever produced to date. His fleece is bright, soft, crimpy & beautiful. There's a whole lot of potential packed into this guy. We're looking for the right partners to help us show Defiant & share in his future.
