| | | Charisma's first cria, Dimitri, maintained amazing 2nd year fleece stats of 15.1 AFD with an SD of 3.5! We love that production!! Dimitri has been sold to the UK, but he was here for his third shearing, and that fleece tested at 17.3 AFD, 3.5 SD...and this was after starting his breeding career...he is one fine, beautiful boy! Charisma gave us a medium fawn female this year - a full sister to Dimitri. She is now 7 months, appears to be show and production quality and likely has the superior fineness worn by her older brother.
Charisma has a lovely fleece... fine, super bright - she shines from a distance - lots of crimp and length. Charisma's second fleece came in much more dense than her first, and we are quite sure she would have done better in the ring as a yearling. However, she was ready to breed at 15 months, and we opted to go that route vs. showing her again.
Charisma is not pregnant at this time, but we would be happy to breed her for you.

| | | Diomedes has that perfect combination of fineness and density with an indescribable brightness, and he is passing it on...in lights and in color! First histograms on his offspring are fabulous! Of the 11 that we tested in 2010, all but three fell under 17 microns (with those 3 at 17.2, 19.1, 19.2,) and the SD's ranged from 2.9 to 3.7. AND SECOND HISTOGRAMS FOLLOW SUIT...OF THE NINE YEARLINGS TESTED IN 2010, ALL BUT TWO WERE UNDER 18 MICRONS.
The fleece judge for 2008 Alpacapalooza, Cheryl Gehly, agreed with us about Diomedes' 2007 blanket. She wrote "Wow! Simply spectacular..." and awarded him 20 OUT OF 20 FOR FINENESS AND HANDLE, 9.5 OUT OF 10 FOR CHARACTER, AND 5 OUT OF 5 FOR DENSITY. In addition, Diomedes won the COLOR CHAMPION, BEST CRIMP, and JUDGE'S CHOICE awards. Naturally, we are thrilled with HIS accomplishments, but as we always say..."it's what they produce that counts." Halter judge Cathy Merkeley awarded Diomedes' first offspring, Diomedes' Dehlia, a blue | |

This little lady landed as we were rounding up the females on shearing day...and, of course, that's how she got her name!! Fortunately, we had lots of help as birthing was not on the fast-paced schedule. But her dam delivered easily, and we left them to bond until we finished all the others at which time we sheared mom and weighed the baby.
Miss Energy is growing into a gorgeous little female. Her full brother, Dimitri, was sold to the UK, and he maintained an amazing histogram for his second shearing...AFD 15.1, SD 3.5. HIS THIRD SHEARING STILL BOASTED INCREDIBLE STATS: AFD 17.3, SD 3.5 AND ONLY 0.5%>30...AFTER HE STARTED BREEDING! This young lady appears to have the same fineness with a higher frequency crimp. It is one of those fleeces that has the "Wow" factor when you open it, and if we were not selling our herd, she would definitely stay in the production line up.
Come see how bright and beautiful she is up close...you may even get to see her at a show this spring.
