| | | Gracie is a true black that has off-the-charts luster. She has consistently maintained her grade and is very uniform in the primary / secondary grade. Gracie is a daughter of Hakuna Matata (ARI #801772 - TB son of NWA, LTD Black Satin and Aruba Von TR, both of mostly Chilean descent in TBs primarily), and Fantasy's Fancy Me (a colorful MB WH MSG dam out of loads of MSG and TB Chilean alpaca genetics). Gracie Lou has produced no fewer than five quality ARI registered offspring as of this writing (9/20/11), with 3 being females and all being of colors ranging from Light Fawn and Med. Rose Grey to True Black.Son of SVA Ebony Prince (TB) and Junio Peruvian Beluga (BG). Ronaldo's paternal grandsire is ATV Platinum Prince, a knockout medium silver grey son of SA Dynasty (LSG). Tallulah is a striking young maiden, sporting that coveted, intense, inky, solid true black fleece we all can't get enough of. With such an outstanding color, it wouldn't be unheard of for all the other great traits she has to be overlooked. Well, let's not let that happen here...lol! I asked Robyn to tell us a bit more about Tallulah's fiber, and this is what she said:
"Born to Gracie Lou and Ronaldo Bean, she has the slickest, blackest fiber I’ve ever seen. In her first shearing she sheared a 4 inch staple in the blanket and a 3.5 inch staple in the neck. She is consistent in her secondaries at a grade 2 and primaries at a grade 4. She scores an 8 for brightness and lustre, 9 for uniformity of crimp style, with 5 crimps per inch at a low amplitude."
Tallulah's doing alright in the pedigree department, as well. She has the following bloodlines coursing through her veins: NWA LTD Black Satin, Loganberry Von TR, El R MR. Mikhail, PPPeruvian Yupanqui, PPeruvian Ruffo, and ATV Platinum Prince.
If you've got or are starting a black and grey breeding program, and don't want or need the more commonly found genetics, TALLULAH'S your best choice. Not only due to her sound and correct conformation and outstanding fleece, but for her high probability to become an excellent producer just like her mom, Gracie Lou. Reproductive traits are highly heritable, so this is not an unreasonable expectation but is, in fact, most probable.
