Faith is another great animal out of Sixth Day Farms breeding program. Faith is bred to be what she is: a beautiful alpaca producing abundant quantities of Grade 1 ('Royal') fleece - while producing crias, too!
To the best of our knowledge, each Peruvian line in Faith's pedigree comes from the herds of the Rural Alianza co-op in Peru.
Sire - Abraham is the father of our Faith, as you can see by her pedigree.
His sire is Mister Antonio, considered by Magical Farms to be the best son of Hemingway, and no wonder - he has sired countless Champions for them, including the 2010 show season.
Abraham's dam, PPeruvian Macarena, is a cornerstone of the Sixth Day herd and the granddam of our primary herdsire, Maple Brook Bravado. I think Macarena is the best of all the imported females that I have ever seen.
Dam - Brittany's primarily Peruvian pedigree features the well known Canadian sires Batido, Oro, and Guellermo.
An impressive pure Alianza Peruvian, Bravado is our foundation herdsire - in the true sense of the word: the male we built our breeding program on.
This guy is fineness personified, with flawless conformation. Just look at the beautiful bundling in his fleece. His micron count at his ninth shearing was 21.8! That's LASTING fineness.
Bravado is the result of combining the finest and most proven Peruvian alpaca genetics in North America: Bueno and Hemingway. Bueno is owned by Mike & Robin Tierney of MapleBrook Farm. His stud fee was $10,000, until he stopped breeding about a year ago. Bueno has sired over 100 winning offspring, and we believe Bravado is one of his best.
Bravado's dam, NWA,Ltd Marcie contributes another line of proven superior genetics: the world famous Hemingway. Marcie's dam is Macarena, making her a full sister to well known sires Predictor, Hektor and Handsome.
Bravado's crias have fantastic fleeces! Don't take my word for it, com
Here is a lovely Medium fawn with a big dark eye, very correct structure, and a wonderful fleece. Fine, fine, fine - with an extremely long staple length, and tiny bunldes of high-frequency 'zipper crimp'.
Sire - Bravado has been a consistent sire of 'showy' alpacas with the 'look that gets the look' - and the elite textile traits that have always been the main focus at Sixth Day Farm.
Dam - Faith is sired by HDF Abraham. In addition to being a son of Mister Antonio (according to Magical Farms, the best of the Hemingway sons), Abraham is out of Macarena.
Macarena is the best of the female imports that I have ever seen, with an amazing fleece. When I first saw her, 8 or 9 years ago, her fleece defined the term 'beautifully organized' with independent staples and distinct high-frequency crimp. How often do you see that type of fleece today on a breeding age female???
This girl is an amazing opportunity for people that breed colored alpacas! You will be able to see her at the shows in the Midwest this spring! Fame is proudly co-owned with Sixth Day Farm.
