Segovia, aka Andre, was born in Bolivia and imported in 1998. At 16.5 years, she is one of the herd elders, still running and doing her version of the pronk with the young ones. She is smaller in stature than the rest of the girls here and ever so prissy in movement and manner, a real lady with a striking appearance. Her offspring born here are larger than her and more solid in stature. Each is solid in color, ranging from white to a true blue black and resemble their sires more than they do Andre. And all but one are girls! Thank You Andre! The baby making business has become hard on her body so she is now free to spend the rest of her days here, hanging out, eating and enjoying the world around her.
Derwydd Peruvian Chasqui
Medium Brown, 831442, Peruvian
Derwydd Peruvian Chasqui has the penciled locks, luster and coverage of his famous sire, Mahogony Prince. Chasqui is a multiple blue ribbon winner, ½ Accoyo and a Uribe (aka Durazno) grandson!
Mahogony Prince is one of the best well known and successful suri herdsires in the country and really needs no introduction. His show record includes Grand Champion, Get-of-Sire and Herdsire of the Year two years in a row. His offspring have won Grand Championships and multiple ribbons.
Ginny is a deep blue black, with a bit of medium silver grey strands peppered on her upper neck. Her fiber is soft and smooth and dreamy to the touch, something not readily apparent if one only considers her AFD in her histograms. It was apparent to the spin-off judges in the few shows where I entered her fiber, two firsts and a Judges Choice Suri (out of 33 entries). And that blue black color is incredible! When the sun hits it, it really is such a deep black that it takes on an indigo/blue hue throughout.
A PVA Mahogony Prince granddaughter, Ginnys lineage includes Peruvian Fuego and PPervuian Uribe (aka Durazno).
Ginny is solidly built and has always been in excellent health. She has had one cria so far, birthing with ease. Her milk supply was ample and she took to mothering from the start.
Ginny is bred to our Tillmans Go For Broke (aka Jim) for a fall 2012 cria. These two suris both have true black fiber with medium silver grey and plenty of luster. Both are strong, solid, healthy suris with well balanced temperaments and both have offspring exhibiting the same. It will be an exciting time as fall nears anticipating the cria their combined genes create.
