SL Cinnamon

Light Brown, 845300, 1/4 Chilean, 3/4 Peruvian

Cinnamon is a good sized production dam with medium bone. Her fleece has a nice, uniform crimp and little guard hair--and she is one of those rare females that has retained good staple length through several crias. The offspring she has produced for us boast correct and strong body styles, nice marketable fiber, and awesome personalities. Cinnamon herself is easy-going, although not keen about the halter/lead.

Cinnamon delivered a gorgeous female cria Butterscotch Sundae in October 2008. This was her third female and the best one yet--Butterscotch Sundae took a blue ribbon at the 2009 Coastal Classic. Cinnamon had a male cria on May 12, 2010 identical to Butterscotch. Sadly, Cinnamon suffered a detached placenta and lost her 2011 cria, a medium fawn female, but recovered from her loss well and bred on July 15 to our vicuna herdsire Milo. He and Cinnamon's light brown daughter Mystery produced a stunning dark brown female cria with his vicuna markings and we're hoping to replic

  Hearns
    White, 1178180, 1/4 Chilean, 3/4 Peruvian

Hearns receives compliments on his fleece from everyone who sees and touches it--from fellow participants at a NEWAIM skirting clinic to farm visitors, to the shearer, even the vet.

Hearns has nice square conformation, good bite, and his terrific fleece has uniformity in every aspect: excellent crimp throughout, density, shine and handle, a very nice lock structure with impressive staple length, and ample coverage. We've even noticed that his crimp has improved with each shearing.

The crias that he has so far produced have been just as beautiful--they clearly resemble eachother so he has a nice type imprint. They also have improved or at least equaled the fiber characteristics of their dams. We've some seriously dense crias on the ground from him. And best of all, he's thrown 2:1 girls to boys!

Mel is a young fiber male and the mirror image of his older full sister Butterscotch--a beautiful medium fawn and white pinto combination. He has a bright fleece that is lovely to handspin. He sort of gets lost in the shuffle because he was the only male born on the farm in 2010 amongst a crop of female crias, which is fine with him as he is on the shy side. He has good manners on lead and is easy to handle.
