WGA She's So Raven
True Black, 848542
OWNED BY MARY LYNNE'S ALPACAS:
UPDATE: Raven just had daughter, Winona, which means "1st born daughter" in Sioux on 10/20/10. Winona is jet blue-black with superfine fleece and excellent conformation. She is the first black cria out of her sire 1/2 Accoyo Champ gray SilverSun...he has had 4 girls & 3 boys (5 grays, 2 blacks). Check out the pic of Winona's gray sisters DE's Lavender'n Roses & WGA Peppermint by SilverSun on SilverSun's page.
Raven, my first foundation girl, is a true black female with soft, crimpy fleece and nice density. Raven has a very feminine and typey head with a regal bearing and inquisitive nature. Born of a true black dam and silver gray sire, Raven's lineage includes General Schwarzkopf, Peruvian Macusani and 5Peruvian Silverado, a veritable Who's Who in Gray Herdsires!

Everyone talks about prepotent males & proof being in the progeny. Here at our farm, Nexxus is proving exactly that point. His cria are cookie cutters of one another in an array of colors. Their crimp style, architecture, bundling, brightness, density, conformation & bite are consistent with color being the only real variable.
The day Durango was born we were all asking ourselves, "What color is that?" Durango is a silvery brown color especially on his face. His dam is a true black daughter of dark silver gray full Peruvian MFG Salvador Dali. His sire is Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus' Nexxus, a dark fawn 6X Champion, 19X blue ribbon, and Get of Sire winner. His grandsires are out of Pacific Crest/Accoyo America's esteemed breeding program. With lots of black and gray thoughout his lineage, Durango could potentially be a fount of color when bred to a variety of colored females.
Durango's very soft fleece exhibits high frequency crimp from his topknot to his toenails. With super soft handle, great staple length and superb density, his excellent fleece characteristics give him that typical teddy bear huacaya appearance. Durango's conformation is spot on. He has a level topline, square correct conformation through his legs with excellent bone and correct bite.
UPDATE NJAC 2010: Durango just won a blue ribbon at the New Jersey Alpaca Classic (class of 7), Judge Kevin O'Leary. It was noted that Durango's fleece is fine and has nice density, with high amplitude.
