Lexus is a daughter of the famed 6Peruvian The Saint 5009 IMPR98, and her dam is a really pretty multi-colored import.
I asked Pat to tell us a bit about Lexus' fiber: "Her micron count was 20 when she was younger and she's still dense, soft and crimpy. She has full coverage!"
Lexus has very nice conformation and sports an attractive, short muzzle. One can definitely see the influence of The Saint in her quality, presence and overall build, though she has always seemed to have a metabolism leaving her "a little bit on the thin side no matter how much grain and/or alfalfa she eats," says Bud.

Comodus' fleece has "a lovely zipper crimp, softness and is very dense," gushes Pat. "He has extensive leg coverage" and topknot. "Comodus has a low micron count, too," says Bud. The primary, most apt and succinct way the Overmyers can describe Comodus is "LOTS OF FIBER!"
When we look at Comodus from the production perspective, one of the most important and impressive characteristics is that, as Pat says, "He produces cria with lasting low micron." Beau is an exquisite animal with perfect conformation, bite and bone. His ears are beautiful and well-placed. He's got a short muzzle and gorgeous top line! Bud and Pat both say they think the thing that stands out most about Beau is "his head!" and I have to agree....so "Teddy Bear," isn't it?
"Beau's fleece is dense and buttery soft. He's also been blessed with fiber with a tight crimp that extends to his tail," says Pat. "He produced 6.5 lbs. of blanket fiber this year. He has definitely improved with age. His topknot is so full that we need to clip it around his eyes several times a year. His sire's micron was low when taken at 6 yrs and his dam won a 3rd place at Nationals in 2002."
Beau has a good temperament. I like to ask owners how they'd describe their alpaca's demeanor. Pat and Bud say Beau "has an easy disposition and is good on halter and lead and with handling during herd health procedures." Speaking of health...
Beau is healthy, current on wormings, vaccinations & is BVD negative.
"Beau's first cria was a female, fawn, with his topknot, crimp & softness," states Pat. "He produces crias with his characteristics & so far has had only females."
Finally, I asked the Overmyers if there's anything outstanding, negative or positive, that should be disclosed about Beau and they said "Yes - He retains a lower micron & is vocal. He's also won several ribbons!" Nice! All good, ideal alpaca stuff!
