Lacey is owned by Pat and Bud Overmyer of Rustic Acres Alpaca Farm in Ohio. She is another exclusive offering by Close-Knit Alpacas via The Secret Meadow. You may purchase her individually OR in an outstanding package at an "unspeakable" price only obtained within the private purchasing environment where new beginnings are born!
Lacey is an elegant, "vocal," proven dam of wonderful value and several advantageous traits for any quality breeding program. She's the daughter of Peruvian Accoyo Capitan, who is a Light Fawn son of PPeruvian Camilio G4561 (MF and WH). On her dam's side of her family tree, Lacey's dam's sire is Peruvian Botin G196, and he's a very nice full Peruvian stud in a high-sheen white. Lacey's dam's mother is of full Chilean heritage with lots of color and splash!
In the conformation department, you can see Lacey's frame and bone structure are strong and true! A dental bite shot is available upon request. Lacey has a lovely head shape, perfectly spear-shaped ears, big, soulful eyes, a straight topline and well-placed, straight legs in the front and the rear.
What's this dam's fleece like? Pat tells us, "Lacey has very dense soft fiber with a tight crimp. She produces 7-10 lbs. of fiber, and her micron count at 7 yrs. old was 26.7 with a CV of 19.1. She has a dense topknot and full coverage."
Now, let's address her qualities in the "production" arena....I asked pat to give us a first-hand, experiential assessment and she said, "Lacey is an excellent mom with plenty of milk and has beautiful crias. She has had 1 male and 3 girls. Lacey delivered a dark brown female cria this year."
"Lacey is easy to handle, too," adds Bud. She halters and leads, well, and is no big deal or trouble at all during monthly herd health procedures.
